Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, FFK, has give reason why Rivers State needs to change the name of their capital from Port Harcourt. The Rivers State capital was named after a British man named Lord Lewis Vernon Harcourt. According to FFK, the man was a pedophile who doesn’t deserve to have a city named after him. He tweeted: Lord Frederick Lugard and wife Flora Shaw gave Nigeria her name. The name of the city was Igweocha, named because when our ancestors were approaching the ocean, there are no more jungle land to provide cover, instead they will be seeing a open heaven where the ocean reflects skywards causing some heavy contrast.
