The investigations by NANS point all fingers to the governor's wife, commissioner for orientation and culture, the governor himself and the Counter-Terrorism Unit (who are not under the command of the NPF).

Calling Nigerian students the only functional group with right mind frame is very debatable, but that aside, the policemen attached to the convoy of the First lady were not there to control aggrieved youths but to protect their principal, hurling projectiles at them and the VIP is a threat and was treated as such, an educated person should know this.

Ekiti is in their worst times.

May the soul of the affected students rest in peace as for the Mrs Fayemi am highly disappointed in her even Mama peace could not behave in this manner .

Honestly, I don't see any justification in what Mrs Fayemi's security entourage did. I also believe that Fayemi's wife and the officers that killed unarmed students should be held responsible for the killings and injuries.

Besides, what is the constitutional or government role of the wife of a governor or president. Their status is alien to the Nigeria constitution hence, I can't understand what gave her and her security officers the effrontery to act in such barbaric and wicked manner.

I was President of UI Student Union during my time. Things were not done this way then; and it's nauseating the way Union officials carry along these days. Boy, I'm not a nincompoop, whatever that means. I pray that you attain to a fraction of my achievements in life. God will surely answer your prayers if you learn to be respectful. If you must know, it isn't all who come to Nairaland that are youths. I live in my own house in California, owning my own outfit with five Africans and two Americans as employees. I shouldn't be saying this openly, but I only want you to know that Nairaland is peopled by intellectuals, public analysts and successful men and women - not just youths. Governor Kayode Fayemi was my Junior in Christ's School, Ado Ekiti, if you must know.

Rules of engagement do not normally dictate how a result is to be achieved, but will indicate what measures may be unacceptable, with that said, the security drafted to Mrs Fayemi were not Riot policemen walking around with rubber bullets. We all know Nigerian institutions and cultism are synonymous, and won't be surprised if some of the students had weapons with live ammunitions
I sympathize with the families of the bereaved, but those kids should have known better!
