How much value does an individual add compared to Flour mills -Jobs, taxes, CSR etc. I would gladly and quickly compensate Flour Mills for relocation, if I were the government.

Why can't FG gather all the profs in road/ construction Engineering and make them head these projects whilst they are being runned by local firms. You close borders to promote local produce but you don't see the dangers in always bringing in foreign experts. Double standards.

In essence, it cannot be completed in December 2019 anymore.

Are they not aware of these challenges before picking December 2019 as completion date?

I just tire for this people.

It is sad what is happening in Nigeria. The urban and regional planning has fails in this regard, didn't they knew before allocating land to foreigners to build factories that it is rail way track...

The initial design is from Iju to Ibadan & that has been achieved. But this government want to extend it to Apapa based on their new policy that all railway must terminate at the seaport.

No problem without solution.
Who do we now blame for this gross error, is it the contractor or the government or both.

Unless they just drew a straight line on a map from Ibadan to Lagos port and quoted figures from thin air to construct this railway line without checking if there are obstacles.

Any way sha like i said there is no problem with out solution it is only a matter of smart thinking like this pic shows bellow.

Indirectly saying the project will be completed by 2023, another scam
Re: Pipelines, Flourmill Factories Causing Delay In Linking Lagos Rail To Seaport by Felicity001(m): 12:37pm On Oct 06, 2019
Just imagine the level of ignorance. Didn't they carry out a survivor and proper mapping before they came up with the blue print? So they just mapped it on the air, ok the rail will go through this path and end here. Foolishness in the highest order. And money has been approved. The next thing now is abandonment. Useless country

A serious government that knows what it's doing would have considered those factories and pipelines in its initial plans. They didn't appear there overnight.

Besides, the December deadline was never possible in the first place. It was just another ploy to win votes.

Could we say they're already booking excuses for failure?
Not as if the project is would not b completed but it might take more extension than earlier scheduled. For instance, there's a another bridge that on going now at Constain which after completion would allow for demolition of the old bridge which is too low for the transit of d train. Serious work is really going on there. Each time I pass through that area I awls commends Amaechi for d good job

Egbon you spoke my mind, the pillars in some bridges constructed in the 1980's in lagos were made very high because of obstruction (water, swamp, houses, industries, motorparks etc). The architects saw those barriers during the design and factor ways early enough to avoid them.

It's not a Paltry sum, the money budgeted for the project is huge and it's borrowed from China.
It has been prooved by Nairalanders that the Chinese are cheating us when compared to the cost in other African countries with worse terrain.

The Chinese are not cheating, they are factoring the enormous bribes they have to pay Nigerian politician.

It's not even the completion of this mythical railway that worries me.
It's the maintenance that will come afterwards.
Or not
Re: Pipelines, Flourmill Factories Causing Delay In Linking Lagos Rail To Seaport by ukahrawah: 3:23pm On Oct 06, 2019
The Nigerian govt ought to know that this problem can be resolved by constructing a tunnel deep below the obstructions.
