Can A Man Advice God?? by tonyimadu: 11:25am On Oct 06, 2019
God is perfect and all knowing. He always makes the right choice and know's the end from the begining so when we read of Moses advicing God and making him change his mind, how do we explain.
In the verses above Moses helped the Lord make the right choice. God changed his mind only after having a talk with Moses.
Exodus 32.9 And the Lord said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
11 And Moses besought the Lord his God, and said, Lord, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
12 Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.
14 And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

God only told Moses just to see what he would say, Moses became a friend of God.

So since it's friendship, we know there are no limits.

You can pray to God and ask him what you want according to his will.
God is your creator, so he obviously wants your good

I understand their friendship but it shows Moses had a smarter and better idea..don't you thinks so. Even God had to give in to Moses argument

This is really lovely sis.

Please keep this (aspect of you) up. cheesy

It was a moment where God wanted to test Moses to see how far he had come with all the training He had given him. (Similar to what He did to Abraham in the instance of Sodom)

And Moses passed it with flying colors, that's why God no go let people like Aaron and Miriam play with His personal person, because Moses was now thinking like God and not like men.

So hopefully you would follow suit.

God bless.

@ John 1:1

Most Bible readers got confused about God's identity, perhaps Jesus is the Almighty God!

Well it's a riddle that can only be solve by true Christians who have become born again!

The spirit dealing with Moses there isn't the Almighty God, but Jesus who began acting as God after the incident that happened in the garden of Eden!

Immediately after the pronouncements of judgement on his three rebellious perfect children~ Satan, Adam and Eve. God withdrew his attention from whatever is happening on the surface of the earth because his eyes are too pure to keep seeing what is evil {Habakkuk 1:13}, and it's certain that evil will permeate the earth as Satan now rules amongst mankind! Ecclesiastes 4:1,8:9 compared to Luke 4:6, John 14:30, 1John 5:19

The Almighty God is holy (100% pure), so one of his spirit sons (Jesus) served as God until mankind's sins were fully paid off. And it was after Jesus had taken the atonement to heaven that God started dealing DIRECTLY with humans again. Those that God chose amongst Jesus' followers are known as the born again Christians, and it's only with these ones that the Almighty God started dealing again.

So none of all those prophets had a direct dealing with the Almighty God, the might spirit person they were dealing with was Jesus who was representing God until Pentecost when God poured out his spirit on Christians.

That's why Jesus said "of all those born of women (humans after Adam and Eve), none is greater than John the baptist (because John prepared the way for God's representative) but the least in the Kingdom of heavens (born again Christians with whom God will soon begin having a direct dealing) is greater than John" Matthew 11:11

So it was a mighty spirit person that Moses was advising NOT the Almighty God himself!

God bless you! smiley

Man cannot advise God, no.
....And there is a difference between intercession and advice. Moses was intercedding on behalf of the Isrealites. Abraham did something like this when he interceded on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah because of Lot's presence in those cities, God didn't heed to Abraham's plea for two cities but saved Lot (and members of his families that Lot could) which was what Abraham wanted anyway. Samuel interceded for Saul and God rejected it. Standing in the gap is something God does not overlook and we have read several examples in the bible.

God also initiated several discussions with his prophets and judges in the old testament just to hear what they have to say and then agree to it.
Jesus did same and got the perfect responses, sometimes, from folks seeking miracles, and even from His disciples.

God even honoured the request of some folks when they asked for signs in the old testament and Jesus gave none to those that asked for it in the new testaments since they had the books of the prophets to read from back then.

I thought so until I read the above scripture

All the activities recorded about God apart from what transpired in the garden of Eden were between humans and a mighty spirit person representing the Almighty God, NOT the Almighty God himself.
That's why when Jesus and his born again brothers started writing about God's mindset it was totally a different picture from what we found in the scriptures before the coming of Jesus.

For instance, at Genesis 22:2 we read that God tested Abraham by asking him to kill his son (Isaac) as a sacrifice to him(God), but at James 1:13-15 a born again Christian wrote "if anyone is been tested, let him never say 'it's God who is testing me' because God cannot be tried with evil neither does he tempt anyone with evil"

In the Hebrew scriptures it was clearly written that evil should be fully paid for whoever does evil things to us! Exodus 21:24-25, Leviticus 24:20, Deuteronomy 19:21

But when Jesus (the first ever born again son of God in human flesh) started teaching people how God feels everything changed! Matthew 5:38-48

By the time Jesus was teaching people about God, he has been baptized both by water and holy spirit so he could speak about God's mindset and attributes through his teachings, unlike before when he was trying to prepare a people through whose lineage he must come into the world! Matthew 23:37-38

So Jesus actually served as God until the reconciliation process is complete, {John 1:1} just as Moses also served as God until the Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt! Exodus 7:1

The remnants of original born again Christians are on earth today but Satan have turned most people against them, because he knew that if people should recognize these born again Christians whom Jesus referred to as his brothers, majority of mankind will be save through their pure teachings! Matthew 25:31-46
