Joker film just made a whopping $234.5M worldwide.

This makes it the best global opening for October, best for a solo origin DC movie, and best for a solo DC film after TDKR

Assuming the film's budget was 70 million dollars (worst case scenario), then going by these figures, it has already turned in a small profit for WB in the range of 24 million dollars.

Even if the week to week drop off is high, it'll definitely top 400 mill. That is a win for me considering the fact that it was 18 plus.

DC/WB had a big one this weekend.

As it stands now;

* Joker has the biggest opening weekend for the month of October and second biggest for September/October behind WB 2017 mega hit IT.

* The R rated movie bested the opening weekend of the previous owner Venom by $14m+, a greater feat considering that it is R rated against a family friendly PG-13 venom.

* The movie is the second movie to make a profit in its opening weekend this year, the other been Endgame.

* Hopefully, it has stronger holdings come next weekend

* This would certainly make the academy unable to ignore it.
