While I quite agree with you, and also agree the erring lecturers should be sacked and prosecuted. But do UK and US students solicit for grades in exchange for sex as prevalent among our female students or like some of our male students "sort" for mark here? Doesn't it bother u that majority of our graduates can't defend their results

There are two different things, i dont think any student will be bold enough to meet a lecturer and ask the lecturer how much for grade.
B4 a student will have such courage to sort a lecturer then he or she knows the lecturer will accept.
At the end of the day it all boils down to the lecturer.
A gud lecturer should be able to resist and punish any student that approach him for such act.

From the comments on this thread, I just realized how Nigerians are super-sentimental and react emotionally to everything without being rational. I'm not a lecturer, but I agree with certain points in his statement:

1. He's not supporting sex for grades in any way. He's just saying sex for grades should not be viewed from one perspective alone.
2. Since the lecturer is bound by the code of ethics of his profession, the students should also be bound by the University's code of conduct as regards morals and dressing.
3. Granted, there is a certain percentage of academically gifted students who were victimized by lecturers to exchange sex for marks, despite their brilliance. However, this figure is insignificant when compared to the large proportion of bimbos and empty-headed slay mamas whose sole purpose in school is to sleep their way through to their degree. They never read, they know nothing but to open and close nyash...

Inasmuch as I believe sex for marks is generally corrupt and should be dealt with legally, pointing ALL fingers towards the lecturers is not the right way to approach it.

With such a mentality and lack of self control you can't go far, are you not aware that such is against the terms and agreements signed upon employment? There is a code of conduct in teaching and lecturing as a whole and having a sexual relationship with a student is considered a breach of the agreement, Mr Uncontrolable libido, he goat!!
