Reduce it base on what, then it's no longer multi party system again.....what is 91 to 5, no make it to 6 geo political zones parties......lclueless senators..instead make a law that will prohibit the formation of mushroom political parties without any national spread.....

[s]No, We are soo stoopid we forget history too easily this kind of arrangement has been done before why are we running in circles? they want to hijack democracy, with 91 parties any Nigerian can run for office whether you win or lose na you sabi, but once it is 5 only the ruling party or the 2 biggest parties will run everything going as far as appointing leaders(stooges) in the other 3 parties and frustrating those parties. Consider also we have free and fair elections but with or without taking bribes the leaders of the five parties agree to a candidate everybody in Nigeria opposes maybe say Bob risky being our president so they all adopt risky as candidate what do we do? We the people are only making the parties more powerful and us more powerless.
For now we have seen cases however few where unexpected parties came out victorious, one or two parties cannot control all 89 other parties. once rigging stops we will enjoy this 91 party system better than that 5 party system. Some parties require you to pay 200million for ticket others are 20thousand with only 5 parties the price will only go higher meaning only the rich can run for office.
Bet me those 5 parties will cause Tribalism, religious intolerance, etc by their candidates and their rhetorics. We saw it when Nigeria started with NCNC= igbo peoples party NDP=hausa people party and that Action group= yoruba people party. These 3 will dominate the rest of us even more than before and sadly only one will keep producing unqualified leaders like it happened before. We will go back to a time when we had political parties named
1. Zamfara commoners party
2. Midwest Democratic front
3. United middle belt Congress
4. Northern people's party
Because they want the support of people especially illiterates who will blindly support any poopu or party as long as it has the name of their tribe or region or even religion attached to it.
It may even be less subtle the party will have any name but once it has 2 Northern muslims leading it will be viewed by the north as the party to support because of that reason alone.

Let's assume those are the 4 parties allowed to remain along with APC or PDP imagine what a Nigeria that would be, imagine the marginalisation, don't get me wrong marginalisation exists look at the NigerDelta 100% of Nigeria oil yet no electricity no jobs nothing but this would be on an even grander scale putting us in a position whereby the electorate is forced to pick between 5 types of poison. There is no how you will not see one you like out of 91 dresses/cars/food there is no how.[/s]

I have been a member of this great forum for a while but I have to use this alternate account to be a little discrete with my information, identity and status, as we are all aware the world is a small village. I am a 2009 Law graduate from a University in Nigeria, and partook in the NYSC program in Ogun stat in 2009/2010. For a reason or the other I couldn't go to the Law school until 2012 and was called to Bar in year 2013. Prior to that time I passed the ACCA certificate in International Financial Reporting, i wanted to diversify and move slightly away from the norm.

I have worked with 2 Lawyers on no fixed salary terms'before fixing a small law office for myself a year ago since I was finding it hard in getting paid employment. With the economic situation in the country I have been at a crossroad, confused, demoralized and depressed because things have indeed nosedived for me and I am at my wits end at the moment. My strength is failing me, sort of. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. At the moment don't have a personal apartment and cannot even afford a single room and that gives me serious nightmare and I am not even proud enough of myself. I am tired of owing paylater and other loan apps.

I have exhausted all ways to get money to get an affordable accommodation but jobs are not forthcoming. I am not proud of my life and how far I have come. I am appealing to Lawyers in the house to contact me for a placement in a place where my skills and abilities would fit in. Also, I have contacted an house agent too and he took me to a decent one room self contain apartment in town, which cost 45,000 (Forty Five Thousand ( including agent fee and commission) and all I have at the moment is just a paltry 8000.

I call on selfless and empathetic individual on this forum to come to my aid and assist me in getting shelter . I will forever be indebted to you if you can help me out of these unfavourable condition. My accommodation need is legitimate, and i need little money to fix myself back. My phone number is 08023538598 You can kindly help me with anything into this account 0031662813. Access Bank Plc. Thanks God bless

Yes nah any party that doesn't have at least a seat at national assembly don't have a business being a polical party. They should just register as an N GO
