You closed land borders with the aim of promoting local production which is a laudable development but have you provided the enabling environment for farmers to compete with their foreign rice planters. Buy a Nigerian made rice and you'll regret. The government should provide good roads, electricity, fertilizers, incentives and watch smuggling reduce to the bearest minimum. |

easyfem:Local rice that imported rice is cheaper than ,I guess you dont now the price difference. Buhari is only trying to enrich some cabal in the North just like what Obj did to cement way back by stopping importation of cement giving way for dangote, up till date the price of cement has refused to drop.. |

Babaalata [s:The countries from where these produce come from have first class roads right? Please don't even suggest they do. By the way, if you say I would regret buying our local rice I would extend it to say a foreigner should not patronize your services as an individual because it would be inferior. Sometimes I wonder if you people think before writing. |

simple250:Keep quiet, if you don't know what to say. There are many people from South east, South West planting rice and smiling to the bank. Recently a big Rice farm was inaugurated in Anambra in partnership with FG. Wake up and work your lazy ass off instead of promoting tribal bigotry everywhere. We have Northern cement company in the North, we have Elephant cement in South West, Ibeto cement in SS did it mean Obasanjo only closed border for only Dangote cement? |

Kingjames:. Yes I concurred. Benin Rep Pineapple is smaller, sweeter and richer than Nigeria, the irony of the whole thing is that these Pineapple was grown by Sungai farm which is own by a Nigeria. But ordinary Benenouns have started planting that species of pineapple |

Karatum:The write up is about the Benin border. Residents nearby are mostly Yorubas. The Cameroon and Niger borders will have smugglers of different tribes in their localities. |

Afamed:I was about doing this but you did the job well for me, tankyu. For most of them, it's all about hate and bigotry. See him trying to ascribe the smuggling business to a region when we know it's dubious Nigerians from every region that are involved |

Our local pineapple is actually better than the Cotonou pineapple in my opinion. Theirs is sweeter but I believe ours is more organic and more nutritious. The ancient organic one is used with some other herbs for curing some ailments. |
