Bcoz the former governor Bindo was threatening the former deputy governor who is a Christian. At a time, Bindo concluded that he could fly Muslim Muslim ticket and would still win. He said he doesn't need Xtians votes. But the party prevailed on him.

Don't forget also that factions of APC, the Babachi group, First lady and her brother group, Nuru Ribadu group were all against the governor.

Remember also Nyako faction that left APC to join ADP.

Those are the factors that got Bindo out of power and not Atiku.

Don't forget that Atiku was loosing the Presidential to Buhari in Adamawa state until when they did abracadabra in 2 remaining local governments then.

APC just decided not to contest it bcoz it won finally.

Christians have the slight majority in Adamawa but muslims dominate the politics in the state cos of the fulani ethnic group and their power.

Dont forget that in 2007 Nyako contest with Gundiri who won? again in 2012 Nyako won. and majority of ur claimed Cristian vote for gundiri yet he failed..also don't forget that last election abdulaziz Nyako split the vote of govt bindow with over 100k vote.

Gundiri has never gotten the ticket of a major party. Give Gundiri PDP ticket and see if anyone would have been able to challenge him.
Fintiri divided Gundiri's votes in 2015 as the PDP flag bearer.

Everyone knows christians are the majority in Adamawa, but muslims play politics better and are more united. If all Adamawa christians unite to vote one candidate in a free and fair election, nothing can stop their candidate.

Adamawa north was the worst affected by BH and this area is predominantly christian.

Maiha and Mubi were affected but Michika/Madagali was the most affected, this is undisputable.
Besides, Maiha/Mubi is a 50/50 area. Muslims are not a majority there. Adamawa north in general is like 65% christian.
Yes, muslims don't like Atiku because he is an educated liberal muslim and not an extremist like them.
