This SSC cadets that just passed out participated in Exercise Camp Highland (that's the last exercise during officer cadet training) alongside their RC final year cadet officers.
Kalapizim:
The time frame doesn't allow them go for both training course.
But they can go for the two courses after passing out.

Guys Abeg I want us to actually reason a particular matter ooo. Earlier this morning while I was trying to come up with Answers to the question HOW CAN I, BEING A GRADUATE OF MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING BE OF HELP TO THE NIGERIAN ARMY PER CHANCE I MADE IT TO THE TRAINING LEVEL

So while trying to come up with Ideas relating to LOCAL SOURCING OF MATERIALS FOR BETTER ANS RELIABLE BULLET PROOF VEST AND OTHER MILITARY HARDWARES, I stumbled on a COMPANY'S LINK whose Main Activity Line is the Production of Military Hardware, Right here in Nigeria (Ogun state):

https://autojosh.com/these-armoured-vehicles-where-manufactured-by-nigerian-company-proforce-photos/

Now my question is WHAT IS STOPPING THE GOVERNMENT IN PATRONIZING THIS FIRM, AT LEAST I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT WILL BE OD MEANINGFUL HELP TO THE SOLDIERS WEY DEY BATTLE FIELD. At least from the Attached pictures on the Link, Top Government Officials are FULLY AWARE OF THEIR EXISTENCE

JUST THINKING OUT LOUD THOUGH

Production and distribution of Bullet proof vest has not really being the problem of the NA, they do produce them at DICON, and even out source production of same to local manufacturers at Aba and other places. The issue is enforcing its use by troops at the fronts.

Then that's where MAKING IT TO BE AS LIGHT AS POSSIBLE COMES INTO PLAY and I believe that is Achievable IF A WELL FINANCED RESEARCH CAN BE CONDUCTED ON THE PRODUCTION OF A FUNCTIONAL LIGHTWEIGHT BULLETPROOF MATERIALS

And as for the Archaic Battle tanks the Soldiers are still using in the Front Line, Why aren't they Contracting the FABRICATION OF NEW ONES TO companies Like PROFORCE ( that I shared their link earlier) and INNOSON

I am optimistic that these Firms wouldn't disappoint if Given such National Assignment to do

They both don't have the capacity for mass production as of present especially for MRAPs and other IFVs. It takes lnnoson 60days to produce a unit of bulletproof SUV, they only have the capacity to mass produce light vehicles/pickups.
Proforce on the other hand only recently went into full production of armored vehicles, not battle tanks. I don't think any local company in Nigeria is into production or even have the technical know-how wherewhital to manufacture battle tanks.

To be fair to them they've made attempts in recent years to seek for assistance especially from Western nations and America but due to our poor human rights records most of these moves are blocked by super powers.

Its quite impressive to see the level of intelligence being displayed by some folks here. It's good for us to keep this discussions on while waiting for the list.
I watched a program last night on TVC(Journalist Hangout) one of the topics discussed was the issue of army calling for procurement of helicopter gunships. What one of the panelists (Babajide) said is exactly what Ugo said on this same platform, that the problem is funding that even the airforce is finding it difficult to maintain its own gunships, that we only have two that is serviceable at present. Honestly, when he was talking I was seriously thinking if Babajide was reading the comments here. Kudos to you guys here, let's keep the conversation going, till those in higher authority especially politicians do the right thing.
The money (5.5bn) National assembly budgeted for cars can buy 36 bell helicopters, the type police use for operations. That same amount can buy 5 Apache helicopters.

That's not possible. An Apache goes for about $40m per unit.

It will amount to about N1.4bn @360 per dollar. Mind you dollars at CBN is sold for N301; so gov't won't be buying at 360 rather the official inter bank rate.

My Fellow Aspirants, I think this Topic is worthy of Deliberation amongst ourselves Coz we Never can say, Luckily in SOME years time, we might find Ourselves as one of the KEY DECISION MAKERS IN THE. NIGERIAN ARMY!!!

There is the possibility of identifying moderate elements within the BH/ISWAP camps and working with them in a bid to create a pacified space. If we can accommodate factions of these insurgents who are willing to convert their armed agitation into a wholly political one; allow them set up an islamic political party and perhaps give them a few parliamentary seats.

You see, this war has many dimensions and those dimensions keep getting complex as it rages on. There are thousands of the local population within the North East area who are in covert support of the fundamental ideology that BH/ISWAP espouses. You cannot win a war of ideology using ammunitions. If people believe in these things, then the best approach is to find a common ground because you cannot force them to stop believing. However, the flaw here is that this approach could open up other conflicts within the country and lend credence to the perception that a section of the country is trying to islamize the nation.

Alternatively, we have to counter ideology with superior ideology. The government should have an understanding with some liberal islamic clerics, who will serve as vehicles for disseminating the right information/propaganda. We should fund moderate islamic preachings to be aired on radio and TV on daily basis, teachings that denounces the doctrines championed by BH/ISWAP. Financial insensitives and food aids can be disbursed to people through these clerics in order to strengthen the popularity of their teachings and serve as a counter-balance to BH/ISWAP. Government must be willing to channel funds towards this area.

Poverty and illiteracy are the machines that power the insurgency in the NE. These are issues that must be tackled in the long term. Free basic and secondary schools should be set up (I believe the North has a lot of them already), and laws should be passed making it a criminal offence to not send your children to school in that region. Almajiri system should be proscribed. A zakat tax system should be set up under existing sharia law(supervised by a sharia council which would be headed by a grand khadi), and the funds gotten from public payment of zakat should be channeled into funding education. In the next 20-30 years, we should see at least 80% literacy level in the region.

On the military front, we seriously need to commit more funds into acquisition of MRAPs to reduce the unfortunate incidence of ambushes. I support Ugo, the army cannot currently afford, operate or maintain aerial assets in an effective manner. Instead, we can seek alternatives by procuring IFVs and portable PGMs to protect our FOBs.

It depends on you bro.

As a constable, you may not be posted to the northeast. Although, you will not be treated fairly in terms of salaries, allowances and even kits. Also, the whole country doesn't give a damn about the police force. So, there isn't any respect for the men on black.

However, the army is suffering from shortage of man power to prosecute the fight on the northeast. So, you have a high probability of been posted there. Are you willing to go through the rigors of training at depot and the stress of warfare at the front if your mame us short listed.

For me, I would advice you go back to school and try to get an HND at least to better your opportunities in life except you really want to serve your country. Because, the country has shown in recent times that they don't really care about the welfare of the rank and file of the police
