Hi guys,
I'm done filling my Ds160 form—but have not signed and submit, I'm just reviewing and adjusting, since my appointment is by december.

Please house, i need your help and want to ask..

1. On the Education section, can i add both secondary and university degree or just uni.

2. On the date of attendance to, should i put the date of completion on my certificate(july 2016) or date of graduation, which says the degree was awarded ...(december 2017)..

3. On the additional information, that talks about clan or tribe, i hope it doesn't really matter. Must i add it—like yoruba tribe.

4. I have morethan one job, pls how do i add it.

5. The language that you speak aspect, is it just english or i can add my other language.

I know this may sound funny, which is why i really need your suggestion on this pls , I'm just trying to be careful, not because of now, but for the future. I don't want to add anything that will hurt me later in the future.

Add every language you understand and can speak.
Do not include secondary school
If you can get the exact date put it, it will be the one on the cert.
Include the main job and inform them about the other job.

Regarding the Uncle part, I was just trying to be truthful, because my uncle—who is a citizen—travels to the state atleast twice a year with a max. duration of atleast 1 month; he is a greencard holder and has a business here.

Your Uncle doesn't live in the US. Don't complicate your application

Hello everyone.Thank you for your replies so far. I got married to a US Citizen in August. My wife Filed the I-i30 on September 24th. USCIS sent a NOA stating our petition is processing, also saying She should signup online to create an account on the USCIS site. My question is while we are waiting the petition been approved. Will I be granted a visitors visa to go visit for like 3weeks and come back? And how long will it most likely take to get approved? Thank you as I await your response.
From my experience I don't your visa will be approve since you have a pending application (i30), hopefully the gurus in the house can help with more info

This is only applicable if the applicant is living within the US and needs to make quick travel out of the US and return without facing refusal back into the US

Good day all.
I’m glad I stumbled on this thread. My mom is a green card holder & she’s currently in the US. Would she be able to file for me with her PR status? I’m in my mid 20s & unmarried.
If yes what is the process like & how long does it take? I’m a graduate but currently undergoing some courses in IT.

Yes...she should be able to petition for you based on the F2B family based category.

It normally takes about 7-8 years.

My fiancee wants to send me an invite, I don't have any travel history, my passport is just a virgin passport, what is my chances of getting a visa?

She's a white woman and older than me.

Yes....and if you say 7-8 years is long what about those who have no choice but to wait on the F3/F4 categories and had to wait 13-14 years.

Some people waited and eventually the years of the long wait came to pass.

Whether you are a prospective student or soon-to-be graduate of a U.S. college or university, understanding your different options and how U.S. visas work is important. The United States government offers an alphabet soup of categories that visitors may qualify for depending on the purpose of their stay in the country. Our guide to U.S. visas will help you untangle all those letters and numbers, and determine the one you need.

Broadly speaking, there are two main types of visas: non-immigrant and immigrant visas. Unless you’re engaged to marry a U.S. citizen or have a U.S. employer willing to sponsor you for a green card, the initial options available are in the non-immigrant visa category. With non-immigrant visas the assumption is you will return home after your program is complete.

3 Types of Visas for Students
If you’re coming to the United States for studies, there are three student visa categories.

F-1 academic student The F-1 student visa is the most common visa type for students. More than 90% of international students who study at academic colleges and universities in the United States are issued an F-1 visa.
M-1 vocational student The M-1 visa is for full-time study at a vocational or other nonacademic institution.
J-1 exchange student visitor The J-1 visa is for exchange students studying abroad for a semester or two, as part of an agreement between a student’s home country university and a U.S. university.
3 Types of Post-Study Work Options

I'm aware of all these. I however can't count the number of applicants with noble visit intentions I know of that got approved since this "strict" development, but the number of approval for those planning to run has decreased drastically, that is the reason you hear more of these refusal complain.... Our "ogboju" time is almost up!

I know of a group of about 20+ in recent times for instance that got almost 40% approval of their application, each of those approved were with the right ties and not planning to escape, they already are back to Naija. Those refused actually almost all had the right ties except for one or two, but not even one with the intent of vamoosing (despite the right ties) got the visa, and I'm told they were the angriest and most desperate of the lot. Yes, they are refusing some qualified people still (mostly because of how they handled their interview and form filling), but they are getting better refusing those on the escape route. I know this will never go down well with the bulk of people getting refused, but search yourself oh!

I really have no skin in the game, but what irks me is the double standard. For example, a Nigerian that wants to go shopping in New York or even just visit for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving parade has higher hurdles to overcome, all things being equal, than a similar visitor say from Brazil or even Argentina.

It really is simple - who is more likely to want to leave their home country to stay back in the US? The Nigerian, Argentinian or Brazilian? On balance, who of the three genuinely only wishes to travel to NY for a visit and return to their home country?

But this here is the textbook definition of scapegoating or stereotyping. Because a lot of us are bad doesn't mean all of us are bad. Why can't we be treated on an individual basis and not pre-judged before we even set foot in the embassy? These are some of the ideals espoused by America but not exactly practiced in relation to Nigerians

I agree with the above... but a typical visa officer has only 3 minutes to interview you. How does he know you are the only good one out of a sea of bad applicants he's had to see? I strongly believe that if Nigeria had a good digital system where a visa officer can easily verify the information on your application - like bank information, job status, criminal record, education, addresses etc., it would have made it that much easier to quickly weed out the bad ones so only those who are trusted are invited to the interview, if that was even necessary. We oftentimes only have ourselves to blame.
