Different countries... If every one of us had a choice of what nation to be born into, Nigeria would be an uninhabited wasteland.

Don't be deceived, some class of people love Nigeria the way it is .

Talk to people from different class and orientation about how this country is , and if they support how bubu is handling the nation .

You will be shocked to your bone marrow, the replies of some people . As in real shock!

That's why I doubt if Nigeria can get better. Infact it won't get better .

This is the idea: government should pick the best amongs kids like this with amazing talent, put them in an enclosed environment just like in BBN for like six months or a year, provide them with a lot of material for production, with specifications what to produce or to just produce anything at all. Before we all know we don dey threaten Washington DC. with missiles

@bolded. You're delusional. 5yr old kids are busy creating apps and writing software codes in developed worlds... These are what kids do as creative assignments here in the U.S. I still assisted my 9yr-old Nephew to build an alternative jumbo aircraft with less propeller turbines... for his talent show in school.

Let's stop celebrating mediocrity when the rest of the world are light years ahead. angry

Re-read my statement. I said the "average" kid. The average American child is a dunce in public school that couldn't write a "hello world" bash script and thinks the only reason to turn on a computer is social media. America is the same country constantly dumbing down education at all levels (even college) because Americans are too stupid and lazy to complete basic education. Americans are people who think writing essays and doing basic calculus are complex, and you're sitting there trying to pretend these morons are leading the pack.

I won't deny that a portion of America is progressive, but they're a minority. And what they're doing has nothing to do with whether we should encourage youth in Nigeria who show a clear interest in and talent for STEM. In case you didn't know (because you don't appear to be educated), there's more to STEM than drones and software. And almost every single leading talent in the realm of STEM began as a kid tinkering with things just like this boy. And what "rest of the world?" Most of the world is not first world or advanced. The China that people praise in here has millions of illiterate people who can't do basic math. And tell me what's the excuse for American stupidity when they have easy access to information and quality education? Shame those people first, not a village boy.

Please educate yourself before you fix your mouth to spout reckless filth against not only an entire nation, but the innocent youth that will shape its future. Save your hatred and vitriol for the vile, demonic whites that constantly try to derail African nations pushing forward. Do you realize how pathetic you sound belittling a young African man while praising a bunch of whites? You should be ashamed. I hope your nephew isn't influenced by your self-hatred. Go pray to whatever G-d you believe in that he washes the bitterness, ignorance, and inferiority complex from your soul.

It starts from somewhere. Hes very talented and i encourage him to go forward. I pray he gets a scholarship. I believe this is a responsible and intelligent boy.
If u are educated and u believe he made that.

Check your education.

A full blown university graduate would find it difficult making a generator from scraps talkless if a primary 6 people. There subjects don't contain anything of such the only way to have such information is the net and that boy doesn't look like someone who can utilize YouTube 40percent

Yes I do.

A kid can be that talented . it simply shows he can be a great engineer in future if he's trained in the right country .

I use to have a brother who can repair anything electronics and he was just a kid when he started with this kind of stuffs. He was actually gifted .

But in Nigeria, talents are either destroyed or sidelined .

No one encourages or support anyone except if the individual have good supportive parents that are financially OK. if not? That kid is on his or her own.

Trust me I know what I'm saying from personal experience.

Thats Nigeria for you .

No Unity, No One Voice , No Consistency , No Loyalty , none whatsoever in any direction one turns .That's why nothing works except personal prayers in ones personal life .
Sighs I'm used to it anyways and I simply do "me" and leave the rest to God and simply seat back relax and watch people . grin

Ok. Lets make it fair. Lets say i check my education. But you check your optimism.

all over the world, kids have passed this level. In some countries, kids make small cellphones for practice. This thing the boy made is not a big deal, Nigeria is just behind when it comes to quality education. There are actually 3 or 4% genius kids amongst us that can do this easily soooo...... Yes, this child might have been helped, but it is also very possible that he or any young kid like him could make it, via level of intelligence.

once again, it is just our level. In some other countries, this is a school project.

Stop saying from other country if we decide to go full blown foreign u might get disappointed.

That kid does nor have the intellect to even make that blender talkless of a generator.

He was not helped an adult made it and handed it over to the kid to draw sympathy and attention.

That's the simple explanation.

No Nigerian primary school even the best can teach u how to make w blender from scraps talkmore of a generator then imagine a government primary school for that matter.

People like u easily get scammed

I was once like that and I knew where my intellect stopped. U can just use screw driver to open an electronics appliance that's a Lil bit faulty dust it and couple it back and people say u have fixed it or translating a spoilt part from another.

Only looking at the cutting and carvings on the plastic would let u know they used at least an intermediate level machinery, that little boy doesn't have access to.

Don't be surprised if this is all a scam. They just transplanted the parts of a working gen into plastic parts and that's all. If an NGO decides to follow this up they would get disappointed.

How do you know the kid does not have intellect simply by looking at him? That, we cannot determine by looks.

some schools do teach these things. And its not about the type of school. At the very least, when i was in primary school we were taught how to set up and connect a switch and light bulb on a small wooden board. Its not as impossible as you think.
