Ronaldo, once he gets the ball in the 18 yard it's a goal but Messi will want to dribble before scoring, Ronaldo scores mostly through free kick and corner kick but Messi does not do that always.

Ronaldo is more of a passing, positioning and shooting. It's therefore logical to put more defenders on a Messi type of player before he runs into the net.

Defenders are likely to mark a player who hogs the ball. Ronaldo doesn't get as much attention as Ronaldo because he doesn't have the low centre of gravity which much shorter players are blessed with, and as such, have better ball control. Even if he wanted to make it his style of play, he likely won't be as efficient as Messi, Hazard, e.t.c.

So how about you also embrace some of Ronaldo's strengths.

Aerial ability
Defensive contribution
Shot power, e.t.c.

I think these make him more complete, especially his being useful in defence and potent with both feet and his head in attack.

To me Messi is obviously more threatening than Ronaldo as he (Messi) possesses game/mind-reading, 3D vision and ball-to-foot gluing abilities when playing against his opponents and alongside his teammates.

In addition, his small physique, subtle but effective body feints, dribbling moves, mastery of the art of deception, ability to suddenly change direction on top speed, accelerate and decelerate intermittently, his determination to retain the ball and not fall cheaply even after dangerous tackles from opponents, his superb ball-passing and control abilities, playmaker roles, ability to switch positions/wings, etc make him way more dangerous than any player to have ever played the game of football.


Ronaldo poses less danger because he not only falls to the ground upon slightest contact by defenders probably due to his unusual desire for set pieces but he also needs space to dribble (which is rarely available).

But I'm sorry, out of all you mentioned, Rinaldo only has the aerial ability and shot power more....the pace depends on two things, with or without the ball... Ronaldo has more pace without the ball, Messi has it more with the ball at his foot.. Check out their defensive contribution and see who's made more tackles.. For the strength/stamina, the shorter players have it better due to the height.. You need drag them hard to stop them, same worked for Tevez during his time.. Ronaldo has the shot power but Messi has a better shooting accuracy, that's why he's scored more goals outside the box
