Sadly Afri one is just assembled in Nigeria but it is still a step forward as he created the parts abroad and I ports the part he created not that he rebranded a phone but anyway hope innoson and Afri One can one day be 100% made in Africa, Nigeria to be exact.

Free Trade Zones/Free Port,
Dongo Kundu Port,

-coconut Palm sugar farms

Look up those projects and be shocked! Malaysia earns 5 BN USD ANNUALLY FROM COASTAL PALM OIL FARMS. BANGLADESH GETS 17O MN USD FROM FARMED CRUSTACEA WHILE THE PHILS ' IS THE LEADER OF PALM SUGAR,MUCH HEALTHIER THAN USUAL SUGAR!!?

Mombasa port have overtaken Lagos port complex in cargo throughput. I think Lagos is down to 1.2M TEUS a year while Mombasa is doing 1.3M TEUS (about 33m metric tonnes). Mombasa does twice Dar Port. Durban does 2.7M.

As for Lekki deap seaport - it will not see the light of the day without FUNDING. And that can only happen when oil price goes back to 100 dollars (never going to happen).Lekki was suppose to be operation last year - but construction is yet to start.

Now LAMU already knocked down 3 out of 32 berths - built in record 2-3yrs.

Don't forget that capacity is for LAPSSET the trans Africa road;rail pipeline to reach Douala in 2030,IIRC . It's an integral part of China's global road belt and road initiative which will see Asian exports transhipped to the UK & N.A. from Lamu to Douala cutting shipping times . The project has global implications in all sectors on all continents.

Yes it does sound nice it shows we are not going to be bottom lickers or spoon fed by foreign companies, same how we will not eat foreign rice, or foreign yam we can produce our own things to provide for our people the more indigenous owners of products we have the more self sufficient we are and the less money spent on imports and the more money made on exports.
