Lol, where have you been? That was US troops pulling out of Syria and left the Kurds hanging, so the kurds feel betrayed and pelted those US convoy with rotten potatoes lol.
I mean, these guys lost over 10,000 fighters, only to be left alone and get slaughtered by Turkey, never trust Trump, he's a low life

A Better question is what's going on in those pictures? Looks like the natives are apposed to whatever US operation is going on.

NAF JETS NEUTRALIZE SEVERAL TERRORISTS AT BUKAR MERAM IN BORNO STATE

In continuation of the sustained onslaught against terrorist elements in the Northeast of the Country, the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has neutralized several Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters at Bukar Meram on the fringes of Lake Chad in the northern part of Borno State. The operation was executed yesterday, 21 October 2019, based on credible intelligence reports that indicated a resumption of the use of the location to provide logistics support to the terrorists, using fishing activities as a cover. Accordingly, the ATF dispatched its attack aircraft to engage designated areas within the settlement.

Before the strikes, over 35 terrorists were observed within the area of interest. The attack aircraft subsequently engaged the location in successive passes recording accurate hits on the target area, leading to the neutralization of several ISWAP fighters as well as the destruction of some of the structures.

The NAF, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain its efforts to completely destroy all remnants of the terrorists in the Northeast.

FLYING OFFICER OKE - ANOTHER NAF FEMALE FIGHTER PILOT IN THE MAKING

Flying Officer Oluwadamilare Oke is another Nigerian Air Force (NAF) female fighter pilot in the making. Oke, who is one of the 15 Student Pilots undergoing Basic Flying Training at the 403 Flying Training School (403 FTS) Kano, has successfully conducted her first solo flight on the L-39ZA Jet Trainer Aircraft. She is the first female pilot to do so in the history of 403 FTS. This is yet another example of the gender-friendly environment created under the current NAF leadership. We look forward to Oke’s progress and eventual graduation from the Course.

No, methinks it is wrong. As a career lecturer in a Think Tank Strategic Studies Institute I believe more helicopters for NA or NAF, will not end Boko Haram war. Nigeria spent a whopping $ 1 billion to buy 70 combat helicopters now deployed by NAF, as in 50 heavy armour heavy firepower Mi-24 & 35 Hinds, 20 armed Puma, EC 135, Agusta 109. If 70 helos cannot finish BHT in 10 years, it proves limitation of air power in a land war. If NA cannot beat BHT on land, something's wrong with NA fighting capability and thats what Senate must spend money to correct by getting long range night vision equipment, land based ISR, HESCO base walls, capable cheap AFV like 23mm x 2 MT-LB or fast agile light tanks e.g. VT-5 high speed, long range night vision combat enabled mini-tanks.

ISWAP BHT attacks mostly at night, armed helicopters cannot I.D. own troops from terrorists, the Black Hawk Down real life movie shows US Army helicopters pilots kept saying no target I.D, it's very hard to identify own troops from enemies at night.

NA is boldly repeating it`s army aviation helicopters will be parked beside tanks, Jeeps, troops, all together inside a trench! Wow! Never seen such anywhere. Black Hawk down proves armed helicopters are not solution to defeat land based insurgency. Watch that real life movie again in full as the war happened in Somalia, estimating numbers, 20 well armed helicopters gave close air support for 24 hours to 100 elite US Army troops, best soldiers worldwide, 2 helicopters were shot down without any SAM missile. 20 helos could not save two platoons size 100 soldiers, until the US Army General begged the Pakistani army to send in 15 AFV of 2 tanks, 13 APCs and what 20 great combat helicopters failed to do for 24 hours air support, the 15 armoured vehicles completed the job in 2 hours saving all soldiers back to base. Somali insurgents wasted ammo, no AFVs was lost while 2 helicopters were shot down and other 27 helicopters ran away when the US Army General said "I cannot risk another loss of helicopter. Tell the Pakistani General to help us send AFV or else 100 American soldiers will be dead in body bags soon." I am just saying this in the best interest of our army.

bros he didn't mean it literarily when he said the helos will be in the trenches with them, he ment that they will be at their bec and call 24/7. Bottom line is that the army needs helos bro. Somalia was an urban theater it's different from what we have in the North East pls.

CAS HOSTS PRESIDENT AIRBUS AFRICA, URGES GREATER SUPPORT FOR AIRCRAFT, EQUIPMENT SERVICEABILITY

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has urged Airbus Africa & Middle East to improve its maintenance and logistical support to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the areas of training and prompt provision of spares in order to better serve the NAF in its efforts at dealing with the security challenges confronting the Nation. The CAS made this known today, 23 October 2019, while receiving the President Airbus Africa & Middle East, Mr Mikail Houari, and other executives of the Company on a courtesy visit at Headquarters NAF Abuja.

Speaking further, the CAS highlighted that the nature of the threats confronting Nigeria required strategic partnerships at governmental and non-governmental levels, not just within Africa but also in Europe and other parts of the world. The CAS observed that, by virtue its human and natural resource endowment as well as its Geo-strategic location, Nigeria deserves the support of all its partners and friends to deal with the security challenges facing it. He noted that the NAF, in synergy with sister Services and other security agencies, has continued to work assiduously to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians. He further said NAF personnel were wholeheartedly committed, highly motivated, willing, able and ready to deal with the terrorists and other criminal elements to ensure a secured Nigeria. He noted however that this would require the support of friends and partners, through the provision of robust technical support and training for more effective and efficient employment of Air Power. Air Marshal Abubakar stressed that Airbus Africa and other companies could play their part, in this regard, by ensuring shortened delivery times while also providing more comprehensive after sales services.

In his response, Mr Mikail Houari commended the NAF for its immense contributions as well as the sacrifices made by its personnel in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality in the Country. He noted that Airbus Africa was extremely proud of being a part of the NAF’s contributions to national security over the years. He said the Company, being a responsible partner, was not unaware of the needs of the Service at this critical time and would do its utmost to meet these requirements. He promised that Airbus Africa would continue to do its best to provide needed equipment, spares, services as well as training, in a timely and cost-effective manner. In reiterating their commitment to Nigeria, Mr Houari, stated that the Company had established a foundation to support young technology start-up companies, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. This, he said, was another way of recognizing the critical importance of Nigeria and indeed the whole of Africa to Airbus.

Others present at the event were Headquarters NAF Principal Staff Officers as well as Airbus Africa & Middle East executives. One of the highlights of the visit was the presentation of models of 2 Airbus-produced aircraft to the CAS.

They are buying it because Nigeria is getting JF 17Block 2 and possibly SU 30s.

You are getting this very wrong. First of all, as said before and someone also repeated, "in the trench with us " merely means something like "the choppers would be parked inside the Super Camp under NA control.

Pls what is this one about comparing a single incident involving a company of US troops trapped inside a built up area inside a densely populated city in Somalia with Nigeria Army's current context of aggressive patrols from Super Camps, hunting and killing the enemy and denying them territory over wide sparsely populated areas.

Kindly understand our problem statement before distracting the authorities with poor advice who have been trying to bring the war to a quick close. Choppers have been fairly effective against BHT but the NA needs more stand off missiles.

You are correct about long range detection of attacks on camps but some of the recent haul of weapons Nigeria Army received recently were GROUND RADARS capable of more than 20km detection of hostiles and many other electro optical observation equipment.

Lets us not distract the NA. Aggressive patrols on land backed by choppers will destroy ISWAP. If we can keep just 10 choppers and 5 aircraft in the air for two months waoiling and kiling, ISWAP would be dead
