By 2023, nigerians will see suffering as blessing , poverty as enjoyment and being rich as curse. Nobody will open the border until 2023.

I support buhari on the border issue

It is sad shall. The brains of Nigerians have depreciated badly. So thoughtless consumption was ENJOYMENT and temporary correction of an anomaly is now SUFFERING.
What a people?. No wonder the country is like this.

So the hard working final year student preparing for his exams is suffering but his colleague in the night club is enjoying?
What a youth?
Keep it up

No sensible national leader closes it's border against foreign trade except illiterate ones like we have in Nigeria.

Your exports are suffering because you want to stop smuggling?
what do you export? Pls explain how our exports are suffering.
Some of you will open your dirty mouth to talk any how because of social media.
Present your father who have all the degrees of this world so that we can elect him to lead this country. BORN to HATE.

Just so you know, closure of the land borders affects both imports and exports. I have been personally affected as I have equipment that needs to go to Tema, which would have taken only 4 days prior to the border closure. Now I have been waiting for more than a month to get a ship that goes directly to Tema or Takoradi ports. One thing a lot of you don't know is that you will rarely find ships that run the west African coast because it is easier to just truck the goods or equipment to the destination.
Buhari should have conducted an economic impact assessment to know the negative impact of the closure.

Eyah, Brexit of UK and Trumps border policy must mean UK and US are illiterates according to you

You don't just type what you see on news headlines, research well, that's if you can.

Is Britain better off with Brexit? Why do you think it is taking this long to negotiate a withdrawal deal?

Which part of the US boarder with which country is closed?

Our neighbors should commit to ending smuggling instead of crying all over the place like bush babies. We are ready to open our borders to trade but it must be legitimate trade and not smuggling.

Our neighbors don't smuggle, our countrymen do and they do so because there is demand and there is demand because local supply is grossly deficient.

So what you are saying is we should turn a blind eye on smuggling because it brings in easy goods and things will be cheap?
But you will be the same person that will criticise the FG when the naira goes on a free fall.

It's your likes that they will give corn seeds to go plant for future abundance, instead you will cook the corn seeds and eat cos you only think of the present, then you will start complaining when starvation hits you in future.

Since you know so much tell me where in history that great economies like India and China had it easy during the transition period to where they are now?
Or you think these countries did not also stop goods from going in?

The beginning is always hard, any sensible person should know this.

You are obviously a very poor student of history.

Chairman Mao locked China inside and closed it's borders, China was competing with 3rd world economies, Deng came and opened China to the world and it's potentials was unleashed to what it is today.

Indian border has always remained open they only place huge duties on goods they can produce.
Killing competition can never drive growth, it will only create monopoly and exploitation.

You Sir,
Are smart by half, so during isolation China was busy wailing and hoping they should reopen the country to the world or they were busy working on reforms for decades?

Obviously you are very blind to the bigger picture here.

All you need to do is pull out data of China's poverty level, foreign investment flow, industrial capacity & forex base under Mao and compare with others.

This was the same way some of you praised the reckless forex policy of Buhari in 2015 - 2016 that placed a similar ban and closed down forex based transactions and domiciliary accounts that plunged our currency into this present day catastrophe.

When will you people learn?

you are still smart by half, any country that is blessed with the kind of resources Nigeria has but still depend on imported products is a disgrace.

So from your forex knowledge, flooding the market with imported goods will give value to the naira?

Common sense eludes you here.

Hate your president if you must, NOT YOUR COUNTRY.

You are seen everywhere supporting everything against Nigeria simply because Atiku lost an election. What the hell is wrong with you young man? Are you planning to live this way for the rest of three years? How are you gonna cope with such self made misery?

So smuggling is what you stand for now, simply because the policy is overseen by a government you dispise. How does smuggling grow one's economy?

You should be ashamed of yourself.
you will understand latter, that he is a patriot unlike who worship an individual, when a better president comes to power and you see what it means to be president
You will be ashamed of this your support then

No country is self-sufficient in everything, including Nigeria. You produce what you and import what you can't produce and reduce competition in what you produce, you built capacity, increase capital funding and raise duties on imports.

Go to school, you will learn better, no need arguing with half educated persons.

Why are you contradicting your self, the things we can produce is the very thing we import, now we stop importation of what we can produce so that we can start production of these products you are wailing, Tell me what do we produce and export in this country in a larger scale apart from crude oil, when we can in fact produce most of the things we import on large scale.
This line of approach is not for lazy youths like you that will not roll up their sleeves and get to work.
You think all this economic jargons you type can hide the fact that you have subjected yourself to only depend on ready made product, and frown upon any process that wants to put an end to it.

For the fact that you think this process will yield results over night simply shows you are you not so bright, it takes time and it is always difficult when starting.

So what is wrong with pushing our production capacity to its full capacity, you think this will happen when you still flood the market with what we can produce ourselves.

Obviously you have lost sight of common sense, no need going into details.

Have a nice day.
