I just watched a facebook people of one young man, probably in his early thirties disparaging the igbos in south Africa and talking, about how they took local business that naturally should be reserved for citizens of south Africa.
Well, i don't know if there was a policy or law in south Africa that says that foreigners shouldn't engage in small businesses.
Here in Nigeria, we have a lot of foreigners doing small businesses in Nigeria.
Secondly, we Nigerians have a wrong perception of Igbos in Nigeria. Igbos are not the only Nigerians in South Africa. There are as many yorubas in South Africa too. The idea that Igbos are doing drugs or selling drugs in south Africa like some people said is not true.
I have a lot if friends and family in South Africa and, none of them is into drug business.
A man from Southern Kaduna ones told me how Igbos are their back bones in time of war.
In Kano or some other parts of the north all the southerners are categorized as Igbos. In time of religious riots or anything like that, everyone is Ibo and everyone sings " nzogbu nsogbu enyi mba enjoying" and just like it happpened South Africa lately.
I recently wanted to purchase an item from a guy in Bostwana. So in the process we started talking about mode of payment and shipping. He told me that he knows alot of my brothers and they all do business together. He even spoke some ibo words.
The assumption that Ibos are more in South Africa and are using drug money to intimidate south Africans is as wrong as hell and it is borne out of hatred.
Like someone rightly told me " Bros, in south Africa we are all Igbos"

Igbos knows no boundary when it comes to business and success just that hatred have made others believe that igbos are bad

My grandfather (late) will always say igbos are the root of Nigerian

Remove igbos and let know how far Nigeria can fare

Secession is not evil

Freedom cometh from above

We are all igbos

South east and south south forget the robe of different tribe,we need unity

This is one of the challenges of being a huge ethnic group and for having an adventurist and nomadic lifestyle which means moving around and being present in most places. But it has its advantages too.

Chai. See lies.
This is the reason why no one likes you both within and outside Nigeria. You lie on the internet to make yourselves feel good and important. Any religious fight in any part of the North, is usually between the indigenes Christians and their Muslim Brothers. Igbos in the North are only a microscopic few in porpulation compared the the Christian indegens.

This is how you guys were chest beating before Python Dance.

You can say that from the comfort of your keyboard. Have you been in the north before during religious riot?
Ask people in Kano and kaduna and other places?
Stop the igbo hate

We Igbo's should learn to send our profits home
The way we use our profits buy houses , build plazas and the rest is what brings this jealousy

Tho we mean no harm cos an Igbo man would always go back home even if its in death

We need to start sending profit home

Do ur business ,love minimal ,send your profit home ,when u have enough profit investment in the east u can retire to the east ,hotels ,plaza ,shopping malls all sale in Igbo land

Imagine orange drug building a house bigger than tinubu in the same street ...why won't they hate

From my own end, I think both Igbo's and Yoruba's are well balanced in South Africa.

They shared same interests in whatever happens in SA good or bad.

The Xenophobia only affects those who lives in low area..

The president of Nigerian Union in SA is a Yoruba man. There are a lot of yorubas in the SA.

A lot of yorubas feel safer living in sabon gari in Kano than living with his brothers.

During the almajiri vs afonja fight in Mile 12, the almajiris razed down a primary school and Igbos in Mile 12 joined the fight.

During one religious crisis in southern Kaduna, igbos fought with the minority Christians.

During the ijaw vs afonja fight of 2000 in Ajegunle, some Igbo's fought with Ijaws

Really, so Igbo's are this Powerful in Nigeria? Yet, the highest Political office holder from the East is a minority leader in the House of Reps. Yet, no Igbo man has ever come close to ruling this Country. Yet the East has no federal government presense. Yet, the East are 3rd class citizens in this Country.

Bloody unity begger. No one likes you. Keep chest beating online to give yourselves hope. grin
