go and feed your 200 million poverty capital of the world citizens. Do you know the meaning of trade. It goes two ways.Did you listen to the man.Ghana will rather block trades with Nigeria and rather trade with Dubai and Europe.Already trade among West African ECOWAS members is the lowest in the world. Ghana exports gold, timber, oil, manufactured products, etc worth 17 billion dollars and out of it,just 80 million dollars goes to Nigeria. So how does a few loss not even loss cos the products can be sold to Europe and China. How does 80 million dollars feed Ghana. Tell me.It's your own people that will suffer cos you can't trade among all these countries again and no imports and exports for them thus businesses and jobs collapsing in Nigeria. Food and goods more than double in prices and majority of your people can't afford such high inflated living. You can't even feed yourself thus closing all your borders to starve yourselves and you're ignorantly shouting that you feed Africa.Despicable words.
Asides the little oil and timber or gold, which of your 'manufactured goods' can compete in the European market, don't even think about the Chinese market-that one is a no-go area

Many of you are just plain stupid and wonder whether you understand the implications of closing your border without even notifying your neighbours.

You have caused perishable products already on its way to Nigeria and other countries and vice versa,

Now you are blocking exports and imports by road which passed through Nigeria and does not have Nigeria as the final destination.

This is the essence of ECOWAS and not Nigerians fleeing their shithole lawless country to go and be pest in other countries.

You are here forming and pretending as if Nigeria is US meanwhile you poverty level and unemployment levels surpasses any country in Africa.

Nigeria is the biggest shithole Africa has to offer .,

Do you even know what the Ecowas treaty is all about? I doubt it

Let me chip this little one: There will be free movement of of goods PRODUCED WITHIN THE ECOWAS COUNTRY to all other Ecowas countries. It's not what Benin, Niger and recently Ghana are doing by bringing rice, cars, turkey, oil from Thailand, India, etc and dumping them on Nigeria. Let Ghana, Benin, Niger produce their cars, groundnut oil, rice, etc and bring them freely to Nigeria to sell. But anything aside that, the borderss remain close.
NB: They can also retaliate by closing their borders too, all the better.

MUMUdom:
Look stop talking trash. Can nigeria feed itself? Nja Dey feed all these countries? Can nigeria feed itself? Nigerian talk trash anyhow. Your country is clearly violating the ecowas treaty it signed. They are telling you that you are acting wrongly and you are saying you feed other countries? I don’t know what is inside your head sha. Pieces of paper or rag?>

Stop talking like a fool, huh? Are you telling me nigeria has no border control? I mean your country does not hav3 border check points, like the rest of the civilized world? It is very stvpid to close borders because goods are being smuggled into your country. Are the goods being smuggled through approved routes? If yes, why are your customs not checking it? Is it difficult to stop a Truck loaded with rice from Benin at your border. The truth is the nigerian customs is very very corrupt. That is your problem, but you will not accept it.

The job of customs and immigration all over the world is to monitor and make sure legitimate trade goes on all the time. We are in the 21st century for God’s sake grin Nigeria is a signatory to ecowas protocols on fire movement of goods and services.

Never mind. Next time nigeria get hit by another west African country, don’t come here screaming ecowas ecowas. As far as I can see, Nigerians are a bunch of hypocrite bastardz

Bros total money you will pay for residence permit in Ghana including the ID card you talked about is 1050 Ghana cedis (about N70,000) yearly. While in Nigeria a Ghananian that wants a residence permit (that's if he just feels like 'dashing' government money as no one cares if you are a Ghananian or not in Nigeria) it's N15,000 every year.

vezycash:
I normally take Ghana's side on issues but if they are saying Nigeria is breaking Ecowas's agreement of free entry and exit of people then - dem dey craaaaaze, mad!

How many Nigerians have they frustrated with unreasonable demands? I know one igbo food seller who dey chased out of an uncompleted building, chased her out of her second place, and then finally out of a shop she rented in the park.

If you know how many dollars I paid - thousands of Nigerian students pay for resident permit, you'll cry. This is how it goes. You'll first need to make a foreign resident ID card. If they've not increased it - $120. You'll then use a photocopy of it when making the resident permit. It could be up to 120 cedis now.

Both are a yearly affair!

It doesn’t really matter who created the platform. So long as as Ghana or Ghanaians are being discussed on any platform, whether created by satan, osama bin laden or whoever, he has a right to comment on that platform, as a Ghanaian. If you don’t want non-nigerians to comment on this platform, then stop talking about other countries and other people. Come to think of it, Nigeria has enough problems to talk about. But what do we see, all they do is talk about other countries. What a fvck

In my opinion, the boarder should be reopened now, there are millions of Nigerian that can convinently fund a rice farm and processing farm here, but this won't work if rice is being smuggled into the country all in the name of ECOWAS free trade pact.

ECOWAS laws does not say you can uproot yourself from your country and go to stay in another’s country. We might as well remove all borders and abolish sovereignty.

ECOWAS is about free movement of people and goods and trading. You take your products to another country , you trade and back to your shithole. If your country is too much of a shithole and want to go live in another country , then you follow their immigration laws.?

I thought Ghanaians has gotten over this border closure problem, did Buhari and Nigeria close the Ghanaian borders and if not why the continued compliant?

Yet the poverty capital decided to close it borders and Ghana with a growing economy @8% is still complaining. Let's leave the borders closed then, it won't affect Ghana. Yet, the interviewee says he prays the borders doesn't remain closed. You guys are confused; honestly.

Ghana sourcing commodities they can easily get from Nigeria or other Neighbouring countries from Europe or elsewhere will only drive up inflation in their country, also depletes their foreign reserve and depreciates their currency

Re: What We Will Do If Border Closure Remains –Ghana Traders Union by MUMUdom: 3:26pm On Oct 28, 2019
Ask your folks in Ghana if they can notice the effect of the border closure on the economy of Ghana angry Fuckeduppedness you don’t get it right? Ghana has a duty to speak for the rest of West Africa and that is what it is doing. So because Ghana’s economy is not affected, Ghana should overlook what is a clear violation of ecowas protocols?

I thought it was just Benin and Niger reps that would be affected, later learnt Togo and Cameroon were crying too.
It was the ever mouthful and boastful Ghana later and just getting to know that Liberia and Ivory coast are equally affected.
We'll deal with you guys and you wouldn't know what hit you all.

Benin
Niger
Togo
Cameroon
Ghana
Ivory coast
Liberia

Waiting for reports from Burkina Faso, Senegal, Mali etc.
if benin, togo and Ghana is affected, a country like Burkina Faso would be affected .Mali might but not really be dependent on some of these west African country like Burkina Faso .. Senegal on the other hand, they get theirs goods from Morocco , even Mali gets theirs from Morocco.. Ivory for long has been trading with Morocco .. basically, we are all in the west as we all do trades across our borders.. Nigeria also gets hides and skin from Mali and Burkina Faso, and other agric produce. To some extent, everyone is affected..

Closing shops owned by Nigerians in Ghana and Nigeria closing her land borders against smuggling and terrorists movements are not the same thing or similar. Are you this stupiid or what

This is clearly a matter of principle. Ghana’s economy is growing at 8%, whether Nigeria’s borders are closed or not. Ghana is not panicking at all. If @nyone should panic, it should be nigerians and their generator-powered economy. grin I see the Nigerian economy entering another recession in 2920 grin Fuckeduppedness anyone wants to bet? You know, we can decide today put your whole country in total darkness by just a signal from our president. Your country depends on Nigeria for many things, chief among them is gas supply to power your energy sector.
