Land Fencing: How Much Will It Cost To Fence A 100 By 100 Feet Plot Of Land? by fynguynopimples: 2:35pm On Oct 28, 2019
Greetings Nairalanders, Please i'd love to have an idea of how much it will cost me to fence the front of a 100 by 100ft plot of land excluding gate.
My three neighbour at my left, right & back have fenced their compound around me to my advantage, leaving me with the front to complete.
i will very much appreciate breakdown estimate of bags of cement needed, blocks , sand , granite, wood and labour.i am working on a 150k budget(excluding gate), i don't know if that will be enough?
Your suggestions are highly welcomed

Budget 300k, if well managed it will give you a good height of about 10 coaches... 150k can't even buy you blocks and cement....but if 150k is what you can afford comfortably, you can start with it. Any height you get, u 'll continue from there next time . Don't over stress yourself cos fence won't give you any daily profit

1000 PCs of blocks is more than 150k already, average gate around 150k, add cement and others and move on.

I appreciate @hisgrace090 & Mutemenot,
i thought being only one side (front) and since i intend buying gate later, 150k should raise it to stardard coach.

300k really??

Honestly, talking about fencing is just relative. How many coaches of blocks do you intend to get. Then, is the land a dry land, semi swampy or a very swampy area, if it the latter, you need to use strong concrete as pillars, but if it is the former, you can still use blocks to form pillars after 10 lines of blocks, do a casting on top with small concrete, just to hold the blocks.

Then do you intend to plaster the fence or just leave it like that, do you intend to use wires, broken bottles or electric security wires on top of the fence or you want to leave like that.
Fencing alone does not guarantee you safety of the land where there is no valid documents to back it up.

I feel, your question on this subject matter is vague. Defining the type of land,as in the topography, if is a dry land or swampy area will be a big factor here, because different land types will need different type of foundation, the depth of the foundation, material concentration and fortifications. All these, add up to the total cost.
You cannot use the budget of dry land measuring 100*100 to work on a semi swampy area of the same measurement or even a very swampy area, these are things you consider very well.

So you need to know exactly what you want before talking about the cost. Define what you want to build as a fence. Is it a high fence, where people cannot have a view of the land from outside, or a low fence of just 4 to 5 lines of blocks, just to "secure" the land, or a mid fence where you can still see through from outside.

If you have the means, get like three 'good and experienced' engineer's or even a local bricklayer ,to get diverse views and budgets,(though some of these engineers are scammers and highly overrated) they will tell you the numbers of blocķs,cement, sand, gravel, (iron rods for pillars, depending on the land, this may not be necessary) and water, needed, then add the engineer's charges and labour, then choose one out of the three, hit the ground running immediately.
To me, 300k CANNOT fence 100X100 dry land. Even if you supervise it yourself, it is not possible, considering the current cost of materials, labour ,plus gate and other logistics therein. If you fence a land and do not put gate, which kind of fence is that, people can still have access to the land.

Avoid getting 'audio' quotations online.

If it is only the front fence of 100by100 minus gate, then you can do something meaningful with 150k.

However, I have reservations on some prices listed here. I don't think cement is less than 2300 per bag depending on brand and place you are, then as at 2016, I know sharp sand sells for 12k per tipper, i don't have the current price, then block is like 130 for 6 inches. So do your maths, plus and minus and you will know how much you need.

Good luck.

150k is more than enough.....

Since u are not putting gate, and it's just the front, u will need just 60 blocks total for a 100 feet for a roll, then u will multiply 60 by 8.. That's 8 coach... That's 67, 200, that's even 9 inch, at 140 per one,

Then u will get 12 bags of cements at 2200 per bag, this gives u 26,400.

Two trip of sand, 5k, or 8k per one depending on your location, that's 10k or 16k,

Your neighbors already have water, buy host of 2k and connect, workmanship should be more than 20k, then stones for the foundation, one trip which goes around 10k to 12k..
Total... Around 135k..... Is even more than enough, and it's roughly a 3 day job

150 will get it done for you bro’s. 6 coaches block is 120. 500/700 blocks will be enough. 1gravel is 18k 1 sand is 15k you can use more than 10/15 bags of cement then the labor for it should not be more than 10/12k. Don’t forget pillar for the gate will consume cement then extra 5 bags for that all this estimation is close to 150k

Re: Land Fencing: How Much Will It Cost To Fence A 100 By 100 Feet Plot Of Land? by adecz: 6:16am On Oct 29, 2019
Nothing less than 25Ok.

Depends also on your location &
cost of sand, gravel & labor.

Cement 20 bags 50k
400 9inch blocks@ 200. 100k

These are direct costs before you
begin to factor in the others that may
be negotiable. Again, the height will
also be a factor in determining your
final cost.

Blocks are layed at up to N5O/ 9inch block,
so, prepare for total labor of about 35 to 4Ok
(excavations, blinding etc).

Huh.

Your neighbors have done 3/4 of the job, leaving you with just 1/4.
Some people have all the luck. Yet you're agonizing over costs here sad

I know money could be an issue, and we all don't have same resources. But if I were in your position, I wouldn't bother with estimates at this fortunate stage. Yes, fortunate because, most of the cost of fencing has been taken off from your shoulders by your neighbors who had fenced theirs.

If all you can afford for now is say, 3 trips of sand and a couple dozen bags of cement, then do so. Mould the amount of blocks you can afford. Except you plan on buying blocks.
Get a skilled mason and agree on how much the job will cost.
Next, break the job into 3 stages of payment as you can afford.
Since there is no hurry/deadline, do it at your pace and don't stress.
I'm putting it this way because I perceive you stress over small details. Divide the job and payment into about 3 stages, something like:

Stage 1: foundation digging, blinding and laying of blocks up to 4 or 5 courses.
Stage 2: raising the fence up to the full height.
Stage 3: making the pillar and mounting the gate.

That way, you don't strain your resources and yourself. When you do it as pay-as-you-go in manageable installments, you won't feel the pinch....and your blood pressure will be fine grin
