Please there is this friend of mine that lost his father mid last year, the father who was a pensioner has been receiving his pension from one particular commercial bank in Nigeria. Unfortunately, the same month that this my friend's father died, that was the same month that the father's ATM card expired but my friend was able to withdraw the last pension from the account before the end of that month.

While my friend was waiting for the appropriate time to apply for Letter of Administration, he was also monitoring the funds entering into the father's account so that he can get them when the money is a reasonable to take care of family issues.

After about 18 months of waiting, my friend finally approached the probate registry for Letter of Administration and a bank certificate was given to him to take to the bank for the bank to give him the account balance. Surprisingly, when he went to the bank, a balance of about 15% of the total sum was given to him, when my friend asked why it was so as he knows the balance from his late father's account, they bank official told him that that was the balance as at the time his father was dead (don't forget that as at the time of his father's death, there was no money is the account as he withdrew everything).

When my friend asked the bank official what will happen to the balance that is almost 85% of the total sum, they informed him that it will be returned to where they came from.

Please has anyone gone through this and what could be your advice, please my friend is seriously in need of serious advice only.

Thanks.

They are right.
Its no scam.
You are entitled to just one month pension after death date.
The money will be returned to source.
Sorry for your loss
