The ministry of transportation is a very important ministry that every government either state or federal hold dearly to its heart. Once the road and other forms of transportation are solved, be sure that problems of mobility have come to an end.

Some few days, the minister of transportation was at CRRC head office in China where he went to inspect the trains that will be used for the Lagos-Ibadan rail and the Abuja Light Rail. The rail are expected to ply the 12 statiojs in Abuja metropolis. AutoReportNG has it on a good note that trains meant for the Abuja metropolis are already on their way to Nigeria.

We got an exclusive overview of how these trains look like. The trains will be adorned in three colours, one is the green and white, the other is blue and white and the last colour will be orange and white (that is if the colours remain unchanged)

During the inspection, the minister was made to see different types of trains, models and how they work. The Abuja type of train is called DMU... A DMU train according to Wikipedia, A diesel multiple unit or DMU is a multiple-unit train powered by on-board diesel engines. A DMU requires no separate locomotive, as the engines are incorporated into one or more of the carriages. Diesel-powered single-unit railcars are also generally classed as DMUs. Diesel-powered units may be further classified by their transmission type: diesel-electric (DEMU), diesel-mechanical (DMMU) or diesel-hydraulic (DHMU).

A train composed of DMU cars scales well, as it allows extra passenger capacity to be added at the same time as motive power. It also permits passenger capacity to be matched to demand, and for trains to be split and joined en route. It is not necessary to match the power available to the size and weight of the train, as each unit is capable of moving itself. As units are added, the power available to move the train increases by the necessary amount. DMUs may have better acceleration capabilities, with more power-driven axles, making them more suitable for routes with frequent closely spaced stops, as compared with conventional locomotive and unpowered carriage setups.

Remember, the minister of transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi has given the contractor Nov 30th deadline for a test run to start from Ebute-Metta in Lagos to Ibadan.

AutoReportNG got some exclusive images of these trains and the company's video graphical presentation when they are going for a test run and trial at CRRC Dalian's Factory.

The trains are expected to arrive in Nigeria before December 2019. See the photos below...

this is not a train...these are cheap Chinese metros na!

the difference between a train and metro is very simple.....a train is for long distance thus has more seating while metro is for short distances so it has fewer seats and more space to stand in between stations.

now look back at the pics and see how there are only but a dozen seats on each carriage... so people are gonna stand for the 3 hours long journey?!

Check how many countries are using MAGLEV train that you mentioned, check how much it costs and the maintence. If the FG that some are abusing of buying locomotives dare buy such, some will take to street to protest. The bottom line is this, you can't please the world, do all you could and let them continue to talk...

Things like this shouldn't be celebrated no more.

I mean should we celebrate teachers for teaching?

I did say half bread was better than none, but you must acknowledge that you overhyped this!

I have no idea why you're rushing to defend the federal govt, their effort is laudable but this is by no means "Ultra Modern!"

FYI, this is 2019. Nobody takes to the street to protest Buhari's govt; you don't need me to tell you why.

Ignore these children. They will always have one or two things to say. They prefer the previous looting party that has looted their sense of reasoning to the present party that's giving us this

Very true. I doubt Nigerians know the meaning of the word. There is nothing Ultra modern about the train.

Why they cant simply say "modern trains" or simply "trains" trains, beats me.

We like bragging too much, and end up making a spectacle of ourselves.

will you pay at least N30,000 for a distance of Ibadan to Lagos for a magnetic levitation or electricity operated train?

It has already been discussed. Presently there are 150 Nigerians in China learning about the maintenance and building of the train

a metro can also be called a train!

And if u're judging by the 6th, 7th and 8th pics, then u're wrong cos thats just a graphical presentation as stated by OP, no way there wont be more seats for a 185km journey.

there is a HUGE difference between trains and metros...the comfort aspect is first and foremost. you wont stand in a train for 3 hrs like you would in a metro.. secondly, only metros have so many doors in their carriages. trains have one in the front and one in the back.

then they should show us the REAL picture of what is being brought from China (or POST NO PICTURES), instead of these useless BS metro cars with no damn seat and so many doors!

all the pics are false... none of these are TRAINS!
