Recruitment: 2.5m Job seekers groan as Civil Defence adopts tight measures, reduces employment opportunities

Out of the entire 2.5 million job seekers that applied for different positions at the recently ended online recruitment exercise conducted by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC), only 5,000 will be considered.
The 5,000 that would eventually make it out of the labour market among the entire 2.5million applicants, are to be chosen from 1.5million applicants already screened for having required qualification for the positions they applied for , while the remaining 1million were screened out of the entire process for not meeting up with specifications stated for the jobs.
Disclosures to this effect, were made recently by the Chairman ,Senate Committee on Interior, Senator Kashim Shetimma (APC Borno Central).
Shettima who stated this during the 2020 budget defence session his committee had with the Minister of Interior , Rauf Aregbesola , said with the arrangement , it will be ratio 1-300 for the remaining 1.5million applicants.
“The Board regulating the NSCDC told us that their initial plan was to offer 10,000 jobs to qualified young Nigerians but paucity of funds, made the number to be slashed to 5,000 , making ratio of those to be considered and left out , very, very wide.
“Even the Nigeria immigration Service , planning recruitment exercise next year , is coming up with just 4,000 places to be filled as disclosed to this committee by the Comptroller General , Mohammed Babandede,” he said.
According to him, with the very little spaces for employment in the public service, the way of Agriculture should be the way out in line with the federal government diversification programme.
“But for the policy to be attractive and succeed , the issue of security challenges must be tackled.
“The very reason why the Ministry of Interior should use security agencies under it to collaborate with the Police and the military , in getting rid of criminals in the land for people to feel free to go back to the farms and enjoy , enormous incentives ,already being provided by government,” he added.
Aregbesola in his response, assured the committee members that though the resources made available for them to work with , are scarce but they wil make the best out it security wise, by squeezing water out of stone .

Their recruitment always take a year to get completed and I wonder why folks keep wiring lie us and down.

The Nigerian Senate has insisted that the proposed recruitment of 10,000 Nigerians into the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) would go on despite limited funds available for the paramilitary outfit.
Authorities of the NSCDC had complained that the 2020 budgetary provision for the corps can only accommodate 5,000 new employees as against the 10,000 earlier proposed by the government.
The complaint was laid before the National Assembly joint committee on interior, during the corps’ budget defence session held on Monday in Abuja.
However, Chairman of the committee, Senator Kassim Shettima, assured Nigerians that the parliament would ensure that the NSCDC continues with the initial plan of enlisting 10,000 people considering the crucial role of the corps in protecting the civil populace and public infrastructure.
“The only way we can come in is to see how we can tinker with their budget to see that 10,000 Nigerians are actually employed,” Senator Shettima insisted.
Senator Shettima and most of the Lawmakers present at the session also commended the management of the NSCDC for their commitment and consistency in helping to safeguard Nigerian communities.
“Civil Defence compliments the efforts of the Nigerian Police Force and other sister security Agencies. I was opportuned to govern a state and I can assure you that the Civil Defence in Borno state is giving Police a run for their money,” he said.
According to the NSCDC, approval was given by government to recruit 10,000 Nigerians into the corps but 2.5 million applications were received from young Nigerians.
The corps further stated that only 1.5 million of the applicants are eligible for the recruitment to fill the 10,000 slots.
Commandant General of the NSCDC, Mr. Abdul Gana Mohammed also confirmed that only 1,000 slots are available for the officers cadre of the recruitment, while the remaining slots are for the rank and file.
He appreciated the Lawmakers for their political would in ensuring that the corps is allowed to execute the original proposal concerning the recruitment exercise.

But let me ask for 5000 they gave Bsc (08) 1000 and waec 04 4000 and for 10000 will be bsc 2000 waec 8000 . so as a graduate e hard ooo
So tell me how much max can u pay for this job if its genuine. 500, 600 ,1m just how much

Mind you that, the 4000 is not only for waec holders, both Nd and, nce are inclusive.

Now here is it, the original plan was to recruit 10k, but due to paucity of funds NSCDC said they will be recruiting 5k officers. That is 1k slots for BSc, while 4k slots for the rest. During the budget defence, the senators told Nscdc to go ahead and recruit the 10k officer as they will make provision for the salary and other allowances in the budget.
So now, 10k officers will be recruited, 2k slots will be given to BSc holders superintendent cadre, while rank and files and inspectorate cadre will be given 8k slots.

What I heard is, list will be out in two batches, one in December and the other in March,what I don't understand is , is it the first process of screening that is coming up in December and the final list in March? I wasn't in the position to ask though . But the person is a very senior officer..as a matter of fact he is the 1st in command in NSCDC in a particular state which I won't mention..

I just don't understand why paramilitary lists normally takes long time before been released.
Military form that was close weeks ago have released their lists

I sha pray we make first batch, cause all this second batch look like scam to me, most of them will have collect money once they see those people they collect money from did not make the lists, they wont want to return the money, so they will be using second batch to cover up my own humble opinion
