Please sing me another song, we’ve heard these over and over. You still can’t take the standard they set away from them.

Our football foundation here in Nigeria is not good, yes we know and let me give you a note that these guys are too young and don't have the experience to blend like the way their old predecessors did, so for me they are great individually and as par team work they're trying so far so?!

They lack the basics ...everything is not dribble

The best 4 sets at this level for Nigeria remains 2015, 2013, 1993 and 2007

The same 2013 team played 3:3 with Sweden in their last group game.

They actually had to wait till 80+ minutes before they equalised in that game.

Also, Iran was the team they scored their highest goal against, and they actually defeated them by 5:0 which means they never defeated any team with a 6 goals margin. I wonder where they will get that 6th goal against Ecuador tongue

This ones have won both matches they've played so far, let's hope they get better with time.

We only need 1 Goal to win a match.

Let's enjoy the game grin
Remember this is an age-grade football and should be developmental. If we only focus on winning and leave out the main purpose which is development, won’t we be hurting ourselves?

My question is why do they keep taking only Yoruba nd Hausa players to every major tournament?
Do they own Nigeria?
What do they always gain in trying to cheat other tribes?

I tell you !

It's very annoying to see players with strength and skill but lack sense.

I can a player be raked inside the eighteen yard box and still struggling to get the ball, when he should have gone down for penalty
It really beats me my brother. I just don't understand.

these are simple things the coach is suppose to tell them.

My brother, even if they had lost this match and their play was tight I’d have praised them.
Check my posts, I’m not a buttlicker, I say it the way it is.
I followed the 2013 set right from their tournament in Ghana where they lost the final match to Ivory Coast (I think), I still praised them because those guys had a pattern and the whole world saw it in Qatar (if I’m not mistaken).
Tell yourself the truth, did you enjoy their play?
those 2013 set were far older and I hope you know that FIFA uses MRI these days to disqualify over age players as such local federations use same method to screen players to aboid being disqualified at the venue of the tournament.

Good lads, but tactical discipline is needed.
Everyone wants to show individual skill.
Again, dey should change their behavior at their opponent's goal mouth.

Three things the coach should change if the team must go far are;

1. Stop the long passes that is targeted at no one. This was what brought the goal draught for a major part of the game. You only do long passes if the opponent is better with the ball possession. They should pass the ball and work their way to the opponent goal post. Those long passes were wasted and not a goal came out of it. We should have won the game by three goals margin (5-2).

2. They should utilize the wings if the central attacking pattern doesn't seem to work. The wing is our traditional style of football and it keeps the defenders and keeper busy.

3. He should please find a replacement for no 7 player. He runs faster than the ball and his shooting skill is poor.

My reply was based on your initial assumption that 2013 team would have won the game by at least 6 goals and I'm pointing out that those guys didn't win any of their games by a 6 goals margin. cool

Meanwhile, the same coach that coached the 2013 team is the one coaching the present team, so let's hope he knows what he's doing.

this team individually comprises of good and talented "crude" players ....the major thing that keeps them going for now is there "hunger" ....the tenacity and the flair with which they play....they run every blade of the field and there work off the ball and ball retrieval level is so good...am sure someone is already telling dem "this is your chance to let the world know..." today dey outran Ecuador in the second leg cos they are powerful en wen the Ecuadorian players were already tired they still have more than enough fight in them....but they need to improve ....dey need to start looking more organised off and on the ball...at a point in the game I even couldn't know where each player was playing ...it was like every player was just chasing the round leather ball on the pitch aimlessly ..an at a point they just don't look compact ...en organised ...spreading out the game is hard but eases u in football...somebody should tell this guyz they can't keep picking the ball and running towards goal ...budozzing and dribbling any player they see...that worked again in the first match en again today but it will not work against the tactically sound teams as the tournament progresses...all the big names like Basil...Spain have to do is pass around us ...make us chase the ball en burn out then we get punished...this team is nice but to impatient on the ball...I hope dey improve

O please! Come back next two years and you will still see people on this same forum call this boys old papas. Whether old or young, it shouldn’t prevent you from making some neat passes and play good football.

The 2013 set went through MRI test
Uzohu made the team because two out of the 3 keepers were screened out
even Ndidi was screened out by MRI in 2013

MRI was used in 2013 too.

2013 is Iheanacho / Isaac Success time na cool

The disqualified about 6 players (I'm not sure if that number is accurate) from the team then after they failed MRI.

2013 set and every team after them are young.

These guys are good but I think the couch should work on them more, if not if we come across a better team, hmmm, i'm sorry, we won't be that lucky to escape with a win. Kudos to them for the win, they had really displayed some of their qualities towards the last ten minute of the game.

That is what I’ve been trying to say since but of course, we won the game so everyone is cool.
The way a very tactical team will bundle us out of competition if we continue playing the way we played today, we sef go shock.

God bless you.

The guys are very good individually. Imagine, if they have a coach like the Angola coach, i don't think any team would be able to stop them. Those Angola boys were playing like Champions league team, i watched their match from start to finish, with joy.

The Eaglet coach needs to go learn more about technicality, not just picking boys on the field to play whatever they like and just score.

They should not destory these talented boys career with "wuruwuru to the answer" style of football.
