We are saying the same thing. The rapist must accept the IPPIS or go home. They don't want IPPIS but they want government intervention / research funds. They don't want IPPIS but they want government new salary structure.

valentineuwakwe:
The Federal Government on Tuesday said there was no going back on the October 31 deadline President Muhammadu Buhari gave public servants to register for the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System .
The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Plannning , Mrs Zainab Ahmed, who stated this while briefing journalists after the National Economic Council meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, added that members of Academic Staff Union of Universities must join the IPPIS .
She said , “ I didn ’t see the notice that ASUU is to go on strike if they are forced to be on the IPPIS . The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has directed that every agency of government , every worker must be on the IPPIS . And my job is to comply with the President’ s directive . That is what I do and we are going to do that . ”
The minister, however , said there was still room for negotiation , adding , “ We will be engaging ASUU ; we will be discussing with them. ”
ASUU threatens strike over FG payroll system
But ASUU members in Bauchi , Gombe and Plateau states said they would resist the IPPIS .
The Zonal Coordinator of ASUU , Prof. Lawan Abubakar, stated this while addressing journalists at a press conference held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University , Bauchi .
He said , “ We already have a standing order for our members that ‘if you are not paid, you don’ t work’ , as simple as that. In fact , if we don’ t get our salary, the next day of the new month , we will not work.”
National Secretary, Congress of University Academics, Dr Henry Oripeloye, in an interview, said the group would make its decision on the IPPIS known later in the week.
He said the OAU chapter of CONUA would hold its congress on Thursday, adding that other chapters would deliberate on the issue during their meetings expected to hold before Friday this week.
“ We derive our powers from the congress. The OAU chapter will hold its congress on Thursday this week and we expect that other chapters will hold their congresses this week. After that had been completed, then the national body will look into the resolutions of the congresses and take position on the issue of the IPPIS , ” Oripeloye said .

But Buhari can fool his zombies by increasing his travel and feeding allowee abi... common sense is not common

I have never been a Buhari supporter but he is gaining my support everyday now. The closure of our land borders has made me to patronise local rice. Local rice I never ate my whole life. I enjoy it better than foreign rice now and I am happy a Nigerian farmer is getting the reward, not a Thai farmer I don't know. What are the lecturers hiding? If they go on strike, let Buhari just sack all of them and employ graduates with masters and PhDs who are willing to work. They are many that are unemployed!

In as much as I am always against some Buhari's bad policy, but in this case of IPPIS registration, I don't see any thing bad in registering your information to know the real workers from ghost workers.

It is only in Nigeria that the academic see themselves as ordinary workers that work and get paid, they should know it goes further than that. They care about ASUU more than Nigeria. They want us the students to believe in Nigeria but they don't believe in Nigeria.

damn! ASUU is the most corrupt organization is Nigeria, 60 % of the fund the university is generating is going to private pocket, this 419 profs are generating more money with university facilities from part time programs, and for this reason they have refused to register 40% of their courses with NUC .
they still share ecological fund, research fund, sell books by force , money for grade, sex for grade , those fat pigs should be fired

Your examples show how Hitler started. He was performing all sorts of atrocities against the law and was applauded. I am sure you would scream fire fire if you are the direct beneficiary of such lawlessness

To the topic, ASU has a point while the FG has a point too. ASU is saying that the law setting up the uni allots powers over their finances to their governing council and not a government fiat as is being done under the FMF IPPIS. That is the law

The FG knows this. What they should do is not shoving this illegally down the throat of the uni but getting the national assembly to pass the appropriate laws to ensure they can do this legally. IPPIS is good and has harmonised the payment structures within the federal staff system

I am sure this is the future and has come to stay. However simply cos it's good doesn't make it ok to illegally implement

Genuinely thought all federal government employees are on IPPIS. All this resistance to the payroll system simply shows these ASUU guys have been doing a lot of dodgy stuffs.

Una go cry, cry, cry, una go tire. Children of hate, anger and bitterness. Na Buhari matter go kill una. No more ghost workers, no more one useless lecturer teaching in four universities full time and collecting four salaries. There are several PhD and Masters degree holders without job. Masters degree holders can teach 100 and 200 levels and even teach in Colleges of Education and Polytechnics if the saboteurs holding multiple jobs are fished out.

You are right, at times he may even be totally wrong just like we too can, but his intentions are genuine. He is patriotic to the cure. Nigeria cannot be govern with soft hands.

Some people said he should have given like a year or two notice that farmers should grow rice and others foods like that before closing the borders. But, I asked Adesina Akinwunmi that was Agriculture Minister during Goatluck Jonathan's period and was praised for revamping Agriculture, where is the Agric revamp? Where is the rice and cassava that he said he had made surplus? What about Audu Ogbeh who was Buhari's Agric Minister for 4 years? Audu Ogbeh was all over the place saying that he had revamp Agriculture and we then have surplus rice, beans, millet, e.t.c. Where is the surplus now? If Buhari did not take drastic measure like closing the borders, in 50 years time, we will still be importing expired rice, groundnut oil and vegetable oil.

Buhari close border for just few weeks now, Coscharis Rice Mill has opened in Anambra. Ekiti and Dangote are building Rice Mill, Labana Rice Mill has increased production, Abakaliki Rice Mill has has increased production, Onyx Rice Mill has has increased production, Elephat Group Rice Mill has increased production, several other Rice Mills have increased production or just opened and several hundreds of small farmers too have increase production. Rice production will soon be the highest employer of labour in the country.
