You want better power....you pay for it.

In the UK, a person living in a single room and parlour can pay N14000 monthly. In Nigeria, that same person on estimated billing can pay N6000 per month. (N4000 or less on a meter).

And we expect light 24/7

On a good day, we generate about 11000mw...on a good day...because most of the time, regardless of what Fashola says, we are at 4000 MW or less...and that 4000MW is meant to supply all of Nigeria...200Million of us. And the truth is, we need about 80000MW to at least have light 24/7. Lagos town needs 10000MW for 24/7

And all that costs money.

Yet, we Nigerians won't pay. We chase away DISCO workers , we refuse to pay for power because 'they are cheating us.' And the honest truth is, we are the ones cheating ourselves.

Power has been private since 2014....yet we expect government to provide us power 24/7 on a budget of 20billion dollars...when we need something like 100billion dollars to even fix transmission to modern standards.

The truth is, we are not going to get to that 80000MW...unless we realize that POWER COSTS MONEY.

And another thing....you want your universites to be like UK and Canada university on school fees of less than 300 dollars a month?? Stop making me laugh.

How much the minimum wage in UK? Are you comparing the standard of living in Nigeria and that of UK. This is submission and excuse for light-out is trash.

We need to raise our generation from 4000MW to 80000MW to see light 24//7

We need to build power stations, repair and replace our entire transmission architecture....before we can see light 24//7.

Where are we going to get at least $100billion from to do all of that?(Our reserves is less than 40billion. Oil prices are too low for us to even keep our heads above water).

Unless you want us to take a big loan.....think again!

And the truth is, I don't like what I have just written...but it is the harsh truth. We pay higher bills to get better service. You cannot pay the price of a bicycle for a Ferrari.

there is nothing wrong in this. its out of their convenience there studying that way. I did same while I was in school, sometimes especially during exams when you're choked up...the sweetest place to study is out in the open, the fresh air, the silence, the musical sound of the crickets, the sweet smell of the grasses, all make it incomparable to the usual method of studying in the libraries and theatres.

So does the sentence "when the school light was taken" sound normal to you?

Even if it's solar you shouldn't be forced to go and sit out in the middle of the night...see them sitting there like a bunch of peasants...are they reading their books or reading the sand

But more importantly: are there no females in that place?

Bro. your analysis is wrong..

Wrong or no...the fact remains, we need money to raise our generation and also improve transmission.

And power was privatised in 2014...which means it's coming from our pockets.

The GSM we are using...we enjoy it because when they came to Nigeria, they were allowed to charge outrageous prices. (A new SIM could set you back N10000 in 2003!). The GSM companies took all our money, and invested it in the new equipment that now enables me to call my relatives abroad, and use the internet at home....things I could not do in 2001.

Don't like youth that don't see beyond tribal lines. Are we program this way?

There are many factors that can make the student to be reading like this
1. Unserious side of FG
2. Lack of management fro the school authority
3. Exam factors I.e congestion of limited space (library) due to exam
4. Weather condition especially Sokoto used to be very hot
5. Student factors

Usman Danfodio University students were pictured reading under the moonlight due to lack of power supply.

Usman Danfodio University shared the photo on Twitter and Twitter users had a lot to say about it.

Some blamed the university and the government for not providing power supply for the students and some asked the account manager to take down the photo because it doesn't speak well of the institution.
