I want to assume most drivers don't look at the riders ratings again. Once I see u have a low rating and you are a lady, I will just prepare my mind, if your tune on d phone is somehow
I will either cancel without telling u or go their and ignore any insult.
I've dropped a unilag girl before with plenty loads in d booth and she said oga pls help me bring my bags to d house and she went inside.
I sat in d car for minutes not knowing what to do?
Las las I carry bag inside oh. Saw her gisting with her friends on bed.
Uber says I shouldn't do that, but did it for peace

You encouraged the behaviour so don't complain. I'm sure there are formal ways to handle such issues as a driver.

Tomorrow, as you didn't say no and stick to the agreement of movement of passengers. She will do same to another Partner.

You see why some of you don't know jack about what is there for drivers. This thread is for drivers and drivers know that the more you cancel, the more your activity score goes down till they temporarily suspend you. As a rider, you don't stand anything to loose. 99.9% of the time, it's the driver that uses his credit to call you and you still feel entitled. When you go to book yellow taxi that charges you double of Uber, do you vex for them even when you use your two legs to go find them.
The only time you stand to loose is when the driver has arrived and you may loose 400 for the aborted trip. And by the way, just as you have uber and bolt, the drivers have both too and can decide to leave your request till eternity.

And we've said it severally, let the platform kick off the erring drivers. It is not rider's call.

A driver rejects a trip, he may have down wrong in your views, but UBER/bolt still feels he is within permitted range of cancellation. That's why it is called partnership; drivers have leverage and lifeline, which they use by cancelling unfavourable trips, and you can't deny them that

thelastorca:
Sounds like a classic case of self entitlement. I will take this platform which provides me with a steady and reliable stream of riders, but I will use kabu kabu mentality.

"I am my own boss."

Who is the alpha in this partnership? Who is the one laying out the conditions? Who is the one kicking people off the platform?

You are your own boss, start your taxi company. Some of the people here 'who are not uber' have their own fledgling companies and are hear to gain insights.

Eateries, major petrol stations, supermarkets, are all partnerships between a big company and a dealer. The company provides support and infrastructure, the dealer sells the companies goods and acts within their policies.

The dealer is also his own 'boss'. But in most cases the corporation calls the shots

Except that you people with ‘leverage’ know that your claim is bs which is why you always try to push the cancellation to the rider. If you were so critical in the scheme of things, you would cancel by yourselves and damn the consequences.

Instead you constantly do your utmost to get the rider to cancel

And you think the driver whose cars are not owned by Uber likes to endanger their investment by going to God forsaken places some riders crawl from or going to places where they will blow back empty.... Because he has too much money to waste?

Just as Uber will hardly ban riders, they dont ban drivers except for fraud like the guy that ripped off the grandma. So you guys should continue coming here to vent wrongly.

We can go on and on but Uber cares not. Even when banned for low activity score, all you have to do is to go and explain yourself, latest 48hrs you are back. I Uninstalled my Bolt driver app and they have been firing me emails on why I did so, I stopped driving since July last year and Uber is still inviting me to sign up.

So if we like, let's continue arguing.
Like someone posited before, just like Uber gives surge to attract drivers during rains and flood, they ought to have pimped their model to charge higher for bad areas if they actually listen to feedbacks, but they don't and that's why riders can rant all the time. I read how Uber charges higher fares for certain areas of California. Why can't they charge higher for dead zone in Nigeria.

If drivers are 'misbehaving', then know something is wrong with the platform.
I've heard people say Uber drivers are better than taxify bla bla bla, not knowing that over 90% drive on both platforms. The difference is Uber's more attentive and quick redress of drivers complaints than Bolt. So an Uber driver will allow you go with your fare but will fight you if you try such on Bolt.

Finally Uber promised you comfort and quick service etc, ask them why they lowered their model year to 2000 from 2008, ask them why they've not yanked off some dead cars from the platform, ask them why they cut their rates by over 40% since 2017.

You pay peanuts and you'll get peanuts. If you want all that comfort at your beck and call, buy a car, employ a driver or rent one.... at a premium. Uber and Taxify is no longer premium service!

You can as well cancel, riders also need to pay for being bad riders or a rider with bad roads from bad activity score owing to accumulated cancellations.

If drivers reject your bad destinations, the best you can do for yourself is to be a gentle man and some drivers will reconsider not bullying them with "you're working for the platform" they will just leave you there and ask you to cancel.

It is very simple, report if you think you have a case and order new ride. No driver will beg you not to report to UBER because he cancels your trips.

Let UBER be the judge.
It might be funny to you that UBER will just overlook so many vague reports because that lack substances.

Cancel the same trip the driver finds unfavourable and report, then order new ride. Sincerely, I support you on that like I supported you on that driver the other day.

But the fact is that, uber/bolt needs drivers and will not ban drivers arbitrarily because riders keep reporting for cancelled trips.

Drivers are only using their leverage to cancel unfavourable trips, don't blame them

We've addressed this, guess you're late coming here. Let uber determine that. You can't determine when a driver leaves a platform because he rejects your trips, the platform decides.
And the question, does uber or bolt see it the way you do, No, they know drivers have their rights and lifelines with which they can reject trips over a certain range.

The reason for the penalties on driver cancellation is to stop selective tripping. If everyone chooses to drive in VI and good road areas it's fine. But it defeats the purpose of moving people.

That is it. When a driver rejects, order new one. No need creating a fuss about it
I don't see why riders make it a big deal.
The driver that cancels trips is just enjoying his leverage till he gets banned.
