You really are ignorant. If uber strike drivers out, they migrate to other platforms. You do know Mr. Taxi is launching tomorrow or so right?

Let me educate you again because e be like say na cocout head you get.

Surge occurs when there are more riders than drivers within a geographical location.

Even the weather conditions is as a result of some drivers going offline, which results to few online drivers.

No time to dey monitor NNPC test or what not.

Demand and supply bro.

Oya say Thank you

obviously most of what i have written has flown over your head. keep looking at that odometer. that seems to be the only language you can really comprehend

Uber is an international brand ... whoever decides to take over can they be efficient as uber in terms of technology? Uber is also a Multi billion dollar company.. Millions are spend on the technology.. Technology is constantly changing and improving.. You need money to keep up

I know, just as bolt came around, there are investors lurking around to break in as soon as uber leaves. The fact is that uber will not leave because they are here to make money and not doing anyone favour. They will always protect drivers/Riders interest.

People with this 'God punish you' mentality

OK let me come down to your level so you can understand how this thing works

Keyword: Activity Score

- Bolt/uber sends you a trip and you see the rating of the rider and decide to ignore it, Activity score takes a hit.

- A driver decides to cancels due to road or weather conditions or maybe the rider was rdue or whatever, Activity score screams.

- A rider refusing to cancel because he's feeling special and wants bolt/uber to strike you, thereby forcing the driver to cancel, Activity score cries.

Now, there's a threshold.

If the driver cancels too much, his activity score plummets and he/she is kicked off the platform.

If we have so many ignorant riders like you displaying machismo, a lot of drivers would be getting yanked off.

The the law of economics comes into play because we now have few drivers. What happens when the demand is more than the supply?

Yea, SURGE cheesy

So at the end of the day who actually pays for it?

Use your head bro.

Let love lead.

Succinct.

you think people change phone numbers just like that? i will change my phone no because of uber?
and what do you think all the sim card registration is about? tying your identity to a phone line.
it is really not that hard. al uber has to do is collaborate with the phone companies and inisist that only registered sims are used on their platforms

to take it further, when i made my report, i had to do a full registration. email etal. al uber has to do is make some benefits available to fully registered users.

this is the message they emailed me start of this week

it is not that hard

I really do not want us to argue much. I have three rider's account on Bolt. One from my stolen SIM, and the remaining two from my current Sims

The reason they insist on phone numbers is for the driver to contact you, and the email is to send you your trip receipt

I have friends who had many Sims when Taxify was dashing #2500 for first timers on card trips.

Until when they start taking the photos of riders and their addresses, all these lamba is rubbish.

Maybe you should advice Uber to COLLABORATE with telcos.... (Whatever that means)

People that buy hundreds of sims just to vote on BBNAIJA?
They don't necessarily need to use their hotline to register on the platform. They can afford to change sim and accounts as they wish.

if I am not mistaken, the FG has given phone companies a deadline to get rid of sims not tied verified users. abuse of sims goes way beyond matters like bbnaija

unfortunately, Uber is probably doing it naija style - waiting for someone to get killed on their platform before they roll out policies that ensure all riders are properly identified.

But they didn't implement this. So riders can still change accounts cheaply as they like.

I still don't understand why people need multiple... I've had one for the last four years and definitely do NOT want and/or need another way for people to reach me!

Most times, it's because of the bonuses attached to first timers. For some, it's because they got blocked

I remember my guy back then. He had an appointment for some weeks in Lekki, and he stays In Yaba. Because Bolt was offering #2500 bonus on card trip for first timers, all he had to do was register a new SIM, link his card details, and....... He's on a ride to Lekki...

He did it throughout the period of those appointments.

If uber and bolt wants to protect drivers from bad riders, they should include riders photo and address or means of ID.

That doesn't stop having multiple sims now. You can still have multiple registered sims. I have two registered active mtn numbers. I can use each of them to open two different accounts.

The moment her request came in, I called and used ma all through my conversation even till the point I discovered the trip isn't gonna be profitable to me. I noticed the rudeness in conversation but decided to suck it up, Las Las na my money I go collect. The moment I told her the reason why I couldn't make the trip, She got even more aggravated and ended the call with a hiss. So, if I reply in same manner she did, I perfectly understand the context of her words.

when there is high demand within a vicinity? eg if there is an NNPC test in unilag, there will be a surge there at the end and at the beginning.

No surge at the beginning because there's inflow of riders at that time. Only at the end when all are trying to rush out would surge smile on them.

Nobody is blaming the driver for rejecting her trip.... That's not the issue

The issue was how she called him a TAXI DRIVER and he responded by calling her a PROSTITUTE

All these ur Mr nice guy to get that poco attention,at the end you will discover she is not worth it I bet you.

Na wa o

Which one be man enough to cancel a ride again?

The display of machismo at every given opportunity.

Why can’t you just cancel and book another ride instead of feeding your ego?

Kai! People!
There's no argument on this one. On Uber, if you ask a rider to cancel and he refuses. If you have enough time on your hands and pick up point is where you can drive or trek to, do it. Wait close to pick up point for additional five minutes from the wait time, cancel and leave. You get paid for it and the stubborn rider will have him or herself to blame. On another note, if I ask a rider to cancel, probably when it's a bit late and the rider gets charged for it, I instantly refund them without hesitation.

So you feel the riders just book Uber because they are bored and like moving aimlessly around Lagos? A riders time and money is valuable. So I take offense when you say we don't have anything to lose.

As for the yellow taxi, you cant vex for them because you don't have any expectations of them coming to pick you rather you flag down or go to their locations. Uber promised us to expect the driver.

Okay stay there and be expecting, because uber said that then you have to abuse it. If you don't make yourself available in a conducive pickup location, drivers will cancel and cancel and cancel and cancel and cancel......

And NOTHING will happen

Uber and Bolt have reasons for putting CASH and CARD as the only means of payment

I pray you don't meet people that will make you change your mind about transfers.

Yea I know about those set of people. I select people based on the prompting I get from within. You 100% correct though I have never had any issues with people transferring to me. Almost 7 days ago I dropped a guy at the airport and his fare was 4600 he said his banking app was giving him issues. So I told him to go that I'll send my account number to him. The next day I got an alert of 5500.

I am selective based on the voice inside prompting me.
So yes may God not allow me meet people that will make me change my mind about transfers
smiley

By the way, a thought just occurred to me. Let's organize a day and get to know ourselves in person at either the beach or somewhere. I mean the guys on this forum. Those in lagos o. Like a get together. grin grin
Just a thought

I want to assume most drivers don't look at the riders ratings again. Once I see u have a low rating and you are a lady, I will just prepare my mind, if your tune on d phone is somehow
I will either cancel without telling u or go their and ignore any insult.
I've dropped a unilag girl before with plenty loads in d booth and she said oga pls help me bring my bags to d house and she went inside.
I sat in d car for minutes not knowing what to do?
Las las I carry bag inside oh. Saw her gisting with her friends on bed.
Uber says I shouldn't do that, but did it for peace

Funny enough Nigeria is not even uber's biggest African market.. So losing Nigerian market is not a big deal to them in my opinion .. Egypt is the biggest market for them and Some other African countries .. Those market are more important to them than Nigeria.. The only thing here is that uber is trying to get a strong grip ahead of everybody else regardless if the market is big or not ..more like a monopoly control.. We can agree to disagree at the sametime

You did it for peace, which was good.

All depends on mood, at times on a certain day, you may not do that. Another driver may decide not to do that, that doesnt make the driver wrong also, but some riders will think it is wrong because some drivers do it.

She will expect all drivers to do it because bazoo did it, the best I could do in that situation was to park all her stuff from my booth to the floor beside the car, if she like make she no come out come carry am. I mean look at the rude manner she even said it. For me it's a NO NO

That's why DRIVERS ARE THEIR OWN BOSSES.

A driver can reject/cancel trips if he doesnt want it, when he cancels to a level is when he gets banned and that is for UBER/bolt to decide, riders should know that

Drivers are their own boss but will never cancel/reject trip but tell rider to do...

Una dey see boss of life? grin grin

Stubborn rider while you are the stubborn one who is refusing the trip as a boss but expecting the rider to cancel..

Nigeria no go ever better with the way all of us dey do sha, we always give excuse for our wrong doings.. Yet we dey blame PMB for our problems

I never expect Uber drivers to help me with bags because I know they are not chauffers. They are private individuals giving people rides for a fee. Overseas they don't help you with bags and we don't expect them to. Some nice ones do but it's not part of the job description. Rider's protect their ratings there because no one will come carry you. I suggest you guys start doing the same if you're not already doing so. Rating can be seen BEFORE accepting the trip

I used to do it before, if your rating is below 4.0 I will just let your request slide. That was before water pass garri
