The way you emphasize BOSS amazes me. All Bosses provide service.

I personally have no issues with a driver who cancels, but cancel on your driver's app. If you depend on the riders to cancel so you can continue your business, then .......
The moment I notify you I won't be able to take the trip, I'll politely ask you to cancel just to save your time. If you insist I cancel it will only take me 5 minutes of my plenty time.. and your little time

If you wish to go on break to relax your muscles and still earn while doing so, you can take it then. If you hustle in Lagos for a week your net after fuel will only be slightly above that.

Yea I know about those set of people. I select people based on the prompting I get from within. You 100% correct though I have never had any issues with people transferring to me. Almost 7 days ago I dropped a guy at the airport and his fare was 4600 he said his banking app was giving him issues. So I told him to go that I'll send my account number to him. The next day I got an alert of 5500.

I am selective based on the voice inside prompting me.
So yes may God not allow me meet people that will make me change my mind about transfers

By the way, a thought just occurred to me. Let's organize a day and get to know ourselves in person at either the beach or somewhere. I mean the guys on this forum. Those in lagos o. Like a get together. grin grin
Just a thought

Yeah. Sounds cool

I remember last year December 25th. I and some of my uber friends chilled at Elegushi that night. It was all fun.... Drinks, weed, and the chilling breeze

Not until a fight broke out the next morning around 3am. Na so dem burst bottle for person head. The whole beach scatter angry

I just jejely run enter my partner corolla, run... I later whatsapp the other guys to tell them say I dey safe grin

I picked a rider from Allen to lekki County home last night and the ride was a quite one and I made sure it was like that. Rider entered my car and sat at the back. I greeted her the first time, I didn't hear a response, I greeted her the second time, still didn't hear any audible sound that looked like she was responding. I turned and greeted her loudly this time that she was forced to answer but at that point I wished I hadn't turned to greet her because her shirt was loosed and all her boobs were just all over the place. I just quickly shook that picture off my head literally and told myself I will never look back at her to ask anything. While on the trip, this lady sat in the car as if she was in her parlour. How I knew was when her clawy toe nails touched my elbow while it was resting on the arm rest/clove compartment. Na there I turn back out of shock and being startled only to see say my sister don open leg here and there with her left leg on the arm rest and right knee pushing on the front passengers seat to keep her balanced and boobs still everywhere.

I wanted to tell her to put her legs down and sit appropriately, but when I remembered how things like this had escalated to something else from other drivers experience, I just told myself that it wasn't worth it. Moreover I may not see this lady again.

Na so I cool myself down and avoided any issues that could have sprung up.
Ended trip and it was 4400. Lady paid via transfer and thanked me.

While every Fibre in me was screaming SHE IS A PROSTITUTE I quickly silence that voice because whether you like it or not, I am not on this platform to be judgemental. I only drive because I love it and to earn some extra income even while I pray for my own car to come my way.

So my fellow drivers, this is what I have learnt in my little time of driving on uber.

1. If you are not comfortable with a ride you've already accepted kindly and politely tell the rider.
2. From my experience, rudeness of riders starts from the phone conversation but it is up to you to season your response with salt so as to calm her before you get to her. Works for me everytime.
3. Always ask them for their preferred route o. This one dey cause wahala well well. Even with the male riders. If traffic dey where dem dey tell you to take use Google map show them say that place red and why. Works for me usually.
4. Never expect your riders to always be nice that's not your entitlement. But by asking this question "How's your day going?" you will know if your rider will be nice or not and it will do two things for you.
It will let you know the state of the rider and also force him or her to respond to you which in turn will let you know if the rider is open to conversation or not. BTW, they'll know when you ask sincerely and that's how conversation starts.
5. I personally prefer transfer to cash payment as it makes it easy for me to save and not spend cash any how on petrol and food.
Last but not least as much as I can remember, don't drive on Uber with the mindset of "this is my car" because it will rob you off your professionalism. You are providing a service and hence you should be worth your service. If you see yourself as a "common Uber driver" it will affect how you handle your riders.

May the Good Lord prosper us in this hustle and keep us safe even as we enter the festive period.
Be safe guys and remember that your life is worth more than your daily target.

Disclaimer: the post above and the tips are just my experience and what I have been using that has been working for me. It might not be accurate and may not apply to some drivers. I stand corrected but still stand on what I belive works for me. Bless up guys

Love you with the love of the Lord bro.

Na me you describe here...

Sounds like a classic case of self entitlement. I will take this platform which provides me with a steady and reliable stream of riders, but I will use kabu kabu mentality.

"I am my own boss."

Who is the alpha in this partnership? Who is the one laying out the conditions? Who is the one kicking people off the platform?

You are your own boss, start your taxi company
. Some of the people here 'who are not uber' have their own fledgling companies and are hear to gain insights.

Eateries, major petrol stations, supermarkets, are all partnerships between a big company and a dealer. The company provides support and infrastructure, the dealer sells the companies goods and acts within their policies.

The dealer is also his own 'boss'. But in most cases the corporation calls the shots

Uber has the upper hand. There are far more people willing to become riders at even more stringent conditions

Okay uber is the boss, tell them to bring their own cars and drivers if they can grin

And you riders have no choice than to patronize us because you people too like awoof.

I dare you to vex and stop using uber, use yellow taxi instead. No you can't, they charge more for less luxury cheesy

I like uber because it brings structure to riding. No arbitrary charges, better safety, means of arbitration, tracking.

Like most things in the internet, you are a vocal minority making ineffectual noises about how important you are. In spite of all the gragra on here, I get rides every single time

That’s all that needs to be said.

We are the owners of the cars. So park them at home and stop forming boss. You are NOTHING without the platform but a fellow with an idle car

Except that you people with ‘leverage’ know that your claim is bs which is why you always try to push the cancellation to the rider. If you were so critical in the scheme of things, you would cancel by yourselves and damn the consequences.

Instead you constantly do your utmost to get the rider to cancel
It only takes 5 minutes of my time, I'm doing you a favour by asking you to cancel so as not to waste your time. If I'm to cancel, I will slide "arrived" and wait for 5 minutes, it won't have any effect on my activity rate

Based on all you have said, you had a choice and left the ride hailing business. Nobody forces you to join. All businesses in Nigeria have their peculiar challenges but people still do them.

If at the end of the day, Uber partners are making total losses, nobody will tell the partners to quit.

And what do you mean by all that comfort? Uber standard is a clean car, AC and good shocks for a good ride. That is comfort enough. If you can't provide that then you have no business being on Uber. No one is expecting massage seats...

You want good shocks and you also want drivers to always take you through bad roads, with the peanuts you're paying. It's like you dont know this is business, you think we're good samaritans doing charity work abi. If uber can be maintaining my car there's no road I will not ply to get you to your destination

Don't just be greedy and accept this type of offers without doing due diligence and proper vetting of the rider, especially when you are getting the offer from the internet. Think of your life and other risks inherent in this type long distance travel.

He is a boss, and that's why he has the liberty to do that which he can't naturally be able to do if he isn't a boss.
BTW, drivers can still cancel and get paid for it by just waiting a lil above 5 mins. Asking you to cancel is to safe your cash and time.
If you as a rider think you're a superior boss, cancel from your end and go sack the driver from the platform as a boss.
NO STORY

Drivers are their own boss but will never cancel/reject trip but tell rider to do...

As a boss why not cancel/reject the trips yourself?
Stubborn rider while you are the stubborn one who is refusing the trip as a boss but expecting the rider to cancel..

Nigeria no go ever better with the way all of us dey do sha, we always give excuse for our wrong doings.. Yet we dey blame PMB for our problems

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by peeps4u: 12:31pm On Oct 31, 2019
All platforms will not leave because of few aggrieved riders. If uber leaves, indriver dey, bolt dey. Do you even know there are some drivers that only use one of the platforms?

As for riders, you don't do drivers favour by patronizing the platforms, if hello cab is an option, why don't you take it instead of uber/bolt? They offer you ride, you pay them.

May be drivers should say they also do you favour by taking you to your destinations.

This is business, and no one should have false sense of entitlement. Drivers offers service to riders, riders pay; no one does anyone favour here.

Besides, weren't the drivers surviving before uber/bolt just like you were surviving with yellow cabs? Everyone will be okay with or without uber. Let's stop using "if uber leaves........" to scare drivers.

Heavens will not fall.
