Governor Seyi Makinde has ordered the contractor handling over N65 billion Naira Construction of Ibadan Circular road to stop work at the site with immediate effect.

The Governor gave the order this Thursday after paying on-the-spot inspection to the ongoing construction of the Ibadan Circular road.

Governor Makinde expressed his displeasure over the level of work done at the site despite the huge amount vested into the project by the last administration.


He stressed that the road was approved to the contractor two years ago by the immediate administration but no tangible construction has been carried since awarded

According to him, Government under his watch will not tolerate any forms of contract delay and that Road construction work given to contractor must done within the stipulated time.

The only problem here is that the Contractors are slow. On 2nd Niger Bridge, after 16yrs of PDP all they did was a Printed Design on paper.

Here is what it say: 65b is the total cost. Part of the payment paid. Did not say how much. Work is slow. No money dispute reported. Governor order work stop, perhaps to know why work is slow.

reconstruction of a road in use is always difficult. apapa Oshodi expressway is a horror to drive these days with half the road unavailable for use. Makinde is a smart guy. i hope he is not just playing to the gallery here.

And the contractor go don use part of that contract money buy house for Lekki + latest Range Rover dey form biggest business man in town dey collect more contracts sef.

All dis politicians sef, how much was disbursed, what is the percentage of work done and for how long? Dey no tell us

And if you check well the road is not even worth up to 40b.... Kudos to the governor

Some couple of minutes ago I was on one of the roads awarded and I was surprised at how slow this folks were,like they were only 2 to 3 workers constructing a fvcking Bridge.

Ibadan is the Capital of Oyo state so it is going to get special attention

Ajimobi should answer that question, after all the contract was awarded during his tenure.

Meanwhile, my brother! Have you forgotten ni that all over Nigeria developmental projects are always concentrated in the capital - State, Local government HQ, even some areas that host constituency office & it shouldn't be so.
