I'm not a PNP advocate o (sorry)...between occupation in demand, relative/friend residency requirement, job/employment offer etc i just couldn't find one that worked except you have family in Manitoba. Sask, SINP also recently increased their OID list. Quebec reduced their immigration targets and I heard they focus on inland candidates but I havent really followed that for a while, so I may be wrong. ARRIMA is the Quebec portal. You can check it out though....I know CO and EO are weighted higher than the other 2 for Quebec.

I saw one result 450/450 in writing - The guy smashed the rest. North African guy.

Apparently, there is a structure to french writing (dialectic essay as mentioned to us by Ayboye)....... francophone teenagers are taught this when they take their BAC exams. So a francophone person who went through that system will almost always get 450 EE barring any major errors. I have seen one in Nigeria......Maroc far!

I have just seen my results and I am supremely confident that it is a racket (so is IELTS by the way).

Admittedly, I was expecting a high C1 in the comprehension orale as I felt I screwed up one of the long passages but no way was I B2. I had C1 in the speaking section in 2017, when I wrote TEF just to gauge my level. I have progressed since then.

So I had a low score in the section that is definitely my strongest point - funny! Very subjective the whole marking and I understand that there are no remarks for TEF.

I will work hard in my IELTS now. I plan to register for December or January at the latest. My madam should follow soon afterwards.

I wish those who are writing the best. Your examiners (plus the rigged system) will definitely influence the scores you get in the speaking section. I wish you the very best.

As for the other sections, I believe that you can get even better scores if you are focused.

Well said Mamaroon. This is such great advice.

It is important that people mix up their approach to taking the TEF. it's two-fold really:
1. Developing the minimum required/sufficient french proficiency.
2. Find out how to pass the exam

my recommendations for finding a tutor:
1. Take everything said with a pinch of salt
2. Find out if they're specialised. Are they tutoring German, Chinese, Luxembourgish as well? (possible warning signs; a maximum of 2 is ideal)
3. Do they have test experience or have they tutored a TEF student before?
4. Is there a demonstrable track record?
5. Are they integrating real test scenarios in their approach?

My suggestions for tutors:
1. Italki (look out for TEF examiners, tutors and/or native speakers.
2. Yourself (you can achieve quite a lot on your own - with the right guidance. Just to illustrate what's possible, I know someone who passed the DALF C1 exam exclusively via self study)
3. Any tutor you find peace with after conducting your own due diligence.

Passing the exam:
1. Read this thread as well as the official CCIP TEF facebook group
2. Know what to expect, prepare your answers
3. Review all past questions.
4. See #1.

You passed naa. where's that cane sef? 310/450 is minimum required for a CLB 7 B2. So this means you'll get the 30 bonus points...if you don't realise this already.
