I hardly post on nairaland and please pardon me should in case you notice any grammatical blunders. My story is a little bit long, please bear with me and read through .
THIS IS MY STORY
I'm a guy of 23-year-old and I was born in a remote village in oyo state. My parents parted ways just when I was very young owed to the fact that my dad was a Christian while my mum was a Muslim according to what my granny told me because I was brought up by her. But because of love my mum had for my dad she later came back and gave birth to my younger brother so we are two. When my mum's parent noticed that my mum did not want to hear words, they came and took my mum with his new born baby far away to sokoto where she later got married to another husband while my dad also got married to another wife.
My dad is an habitual drunkard who doesn't care about children and my grandma that's willing to sponsor my education is also a petty trader that doesn't have much but despite all this she later enrolled me in a public primary school in our village and she was able to sponsor my education through primary school. To cut the long story short when I got to secondary school I took my own responsibility by helping people in their farms in the village after class so whatever amount they paid me my granny would also add her own to it in order to pay for my school fees and that was how I was able to finish my secondary school .
Where would I go? Where would I see money to further my education? I can't remain in this village and be expecting a miracle to happen, these were all thoughts that filled up my mind immediately I finished my secondary school .But they say greatness in life is a choice. It doesn't matter where you come from, It doesn't matter how your background is. I quickly remembered one of my friends in secondary school who has a granny in Lagos and he used to go to Lagos whenever we were on vacation, I called and explained everything to him and he said, he would talk to his grandma about it that he would give me a feedback the following day and luckily, he called the next day that I should be coming to Lagos whenever I'm ready.
The following week, I left the village unceremoniously for Lagos without the knowledge of anybody including my grandma cos I knew that if I tell her she would not allow to go.
LIFE AFTER I GOT TO LAGOS
An average youth in my village knew how to ride a bike so I did not think twice before I started riding okada(motorcycle) in the street of Lagos and there is a lot that happened on the way but to cut the story short, during the course of my riding okada I obtained a jamb form and I was able to secure admission into one of our State polytechnic in the country .But before I gained admission I was able to saved up to 150k in which I paid for my tuition fees ,accommodation and other expenses so any time we were on vacation or a times I used to leave school and come to Lagos to ride in order to have something in pocket to buy food stuff and that was how I was able to finish my Ordinary National Diploma(OND).
Presently, I'm undergoing my one year industrial training at one insurance company company here in Lagos where I'm paid 25k per month and I will be rounding up in Dec .
Now to the purpose of writing this, I have secured another admission into university of Lagos(UNILAG) and I don't want what happened when I was in polytechnic to repeat itself cos riding okada then nearly took my life you know how Lagos things be .I will be rounding up my IT in Dec and I think I should be able to have 80k left after I pay for tuition fee, accommodation and other expenses .
so please my fellow nairalanders, what business can you suggest I can start with 80k as a student on campus? please moderator help me push to the front page for more suggestions.
Thanks
