Even if you don't see any of your friends around in your time of need, what makes you think they are not wishing you well?

Sometimes, the only thing a friend might have to offer are prayers because they may be struggling themselves.

A friend of mine had a problem at work. He called me at a wrong time. I was very broke at that time (that period, things were so hard that it was my mom that settled my house rent). I could not send money, but I did a 3-day fasting for him. I can't say if it was my fasting and praying that helped, but he didn't lose his job. He stopped calling me. So, after some months, I reached out to him through Facebook on his birthday. He thanked everyone who wished him, but ignored me. So, I sent a personal message. He then told me I was a bad friend. That he needed money to save his job but I was not there to help. Then, he blocked me even before I had the chance to explain myself.

Yes, there are bad friends. But, there are good friends too. Even family can ditch you in your time of need not because they want to. It might be forces beyond their control.

I have two cousins whose school fees I have taken responsibility for because their mother is a widow. I am the one who also gives them pocket money every month. Now, another aunty came to me and wanted me to help with her son (another cousin). I did my calculation, and explained that I wouldn't be able to manage another person on my current salary. This woman has stopped talking to me even though I explained why I couldn't take another person in my care.

Bros, better stop this Father Christmas habit and start saving your money for your own FUTURE! Start a pension fund or thorough saving/investment plan for yourself. If you like abuse me and tell me I am a wicked person but save this message somewhere and refer back to it in 20 years time. Never ever take on somebody else's responsibilities. The widow should go and get something doing to cater for the children she brought in to the world.
