The VN 4 is classified as a light APC AT 9 tonnes-its basically a heavy Hummer as you can see. It's made of welded steel plates and I can't find anything on the protection level. In all fairness those GSU guys were KIA in an RPG attack.
Btw,IIRC the Rhodes discovered the hard way their Ferrets weren't 7.62 NATO resistant within a 100m from the front.

Third.one is a Type 010 class minesweeper a Chinese versions of the Russian Soviet T-43 class oceangoing minesweeper. Used by algerian navy as a support ship also as patroller and for diving training .

I doubt the ARA or Ezugwu can stand RPGs. RPG's blow up even tanks so long as the handler knows where to aim/angle of attack. The only effective countermeasure would be an APS like Iron Curtain. https://www.wired.com/2009/11/new-bomb-resistant-trucks-will-blast-rpgs-before-they-hit/

Yes; tbh even the heavier MRAPs like Cougar and Navistar Maxxpro will be FUBAR (effed up beyond all repair) from a well placed RPG HEAT round.

Its not that simple, son. The apcs were not sent to a warzone as you think. They are used for auxiliary role on the Somali border (Kenyan side) which is perfectly safe most of the time except when that one or two opportunistic attacks happen. Usually the attacks happen once in a few months where the attackers sneak under the cover of darkness, make an opportunistic hit, and then run into the thickets back to Somalia.

The Border Patrol Unit uses CS/VP3 MRAPs, with support from further inventory like the VN4s and others including transport trucks for mass deployment. We're talking of over 600 Kms of porous border from north to south. You can only have so many MRAPs! Police Spokesman said the vehicles CANNOT withstand RPG attacks. They knew all that. They were never meant to shield from rpgs and ieds as shallow geniuses think after reading a mere news piece, but they can still be hit. The limitations (and a little corruption) means that they cannot rely on MRAPs alone.

Btw, the VN4s can be used for normal border patrols. Only that the Somalia border is not normal.
