Also, I did a calculation this evening and I see that it is possible (but it won't be easy) for joker to hit $1bn without another release or China.

What joker needs now is continuous strong legs to enable it reach $1bn by November ending or December.

Joker needs a total of $151m+ to touch the $1bn point.

What Joker needs is for US/Canada to bring $30-$40m and the rest of the world brings $110-130m. However, this isn't going to be easy.

Joker will touch $900m-$920m by next week Sunday. Upper Sunday, if its legs still strong it will be at $$950-960m. The next should see it at $980-$990. Then the fourth/fifth Sunday from now should see it touch $1bn.

However, Joker is going to ace another battle as Terminator: dark fate which has the same target audience might hamper it.

We just have to watch and see.

To be honest, the media backlash and negative propaganda was massive to the extent i was wondering if WB/DC made a mistake making Joker.

So glad that the woke media cant really influence the global box office the way the highly influenced the Domestic BO.

Also glad that the Joker twitter/social marketing team turned the negative backlash for their gain

those are very different films. Joker has s0mething that draws the general public that doesn't reach out to specific sentiments.

no publicity is bad publicity, depends on how they manage it. Plus, the themes in joker are what people can relate with. Films such as that, do well with audience e.g ben affleck and david fincher's g0ne girl. So, it was one reas0n i was so sure of this. Never did i doubt it.

Bad publicity killed off Rambo last blood, killed off terminator dark fate etc.

However, how to manage bad publicity is the game changer. WB/DC managed this bad publicity very well especially on social media and the Venice award was also an advantage.

Also, the critics came out to show their bias on social media which made people to now question the kind of movie critics on ground

Of course they are different films, however, they have likely the same target audience, especially Joker and BOP.

Joker is a character study movie about a man's descent into madness while BOP is about a woman who is seeking emancipation.

Both are clowns, both are crazy and both are R rated movies.

Bop sets the floor for ww84 as they are both female lead movies. The first female lead comic bookmovies back to back
