how has that "vision" helped the igbos? Youve gone some a semi-independent nation with control of your resources and your affairs as well as the Oil producing minorities and 50% of the revenues from Oil in the SE (1966) to a totally dependent weak nation ( SE is the smallest region in Nigeria today) lost power over the Oil producing minorities and lost control of your resources to the point where you now have to go to Abuja for allocation from Oil which you previously had power over.

Is that not what is called penny wise pound foolish?
they will survive with or without the oil. worry about your own fortune. am proud of them no matter what else or more you have to say

Look how this one is palpitating, desperatento cover the first page with his gibberish so people dont get a chance to share Ojukwu.

This is exactly what I told you yesterday. Kanu was busy cursing and insulting ALL northerners yesterday. You hailed him. But you can hardly take a pinch of the same treatment if directed at those you pay allegiance to.

Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.

And try and get a job. Stop deceiving yourself. Even if the biafra thing would happen, it isnt happening even in the next twenty years. In the mean time, try and develop yourself. It's an honest advice.

You wish. If I could have my way, you and the rest of your people will have your lands carved out of Nigeria before dawn. I swear.

Now, like I said, get a job. That stuff isnt happening anytime soon. It is a long and tedious process. You are wasting your life away banking on it to happen overnight, selling silly propaganda here every blessed day.

Gowon responded by dismissing Ojukwu from the Army and declaring war. On the 6th of July 1967, the Nigerian Army fired on the Biafran border town of Gakem and this started a 3 year war that ended in January 1970.

Most Igbos still revere Ojukwu even in death because he fought for their freedom
the footprints of Ojukwu will remain indelible!

How come your tale telling did not start from from Igbos slaughtering the premiers of South and Northern region leaving only the Igbo premier of Eastern region and then top their blood thirst by brutally murdering the first democratically elected prime minister of Nigeria and in the barbarian style still dragged his lifeless body all over Lagos with many of their kinsmen jubilation at such gruesome bedevilment ?
You really have time for the bigoted guy. He claimed they fought for 3years. Take them serious on your own. Of not for the south south people that helped them in the fight, they wouldn't have fought anything. Those cowards.

I think people like you should be more concerned about how your precious Nigeria became poverty capital of the world rather than moan who is agitating to leave the poverty capital

Nobody wants to associated with failure, Nigeria is an unmitigated failure

Ojukwu has long been vindicated, the 'one Nigeria' he fought against has today proved to be a monumental disaster.

It may be long in coming but a determined people will eventually become free.

Today is Ezigbo Gburugburu, Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu memorial birthday.
It is his posthumous birthday. This event will take place at Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University with a lecture.
Guest of honour is the state Governor while the Vice Chancellor will be the host.
The wife of Ikemba, Lady Bianca Ojukwu will also be in attendance, while Kingsley Moughalu will be the guest Speaker.
Ohaneze Nd'igbo and Nigeria celebrates an ICON on his posthumous birthday today, November 4, 2019.
Oh that's true. It's again Ojukwu's birthday in Hell.

The selfish power-hungry human being that led his people to the slaughter.
The coward that murdered POWs and his people but ran away when it was his turn to die.
The hypocritical human being that fought against the unity of Nigeria but again turned around to contest the presidency of the same country.
The Ikemba himself.
Happy Hell's Birthday to you.
Rest in peace.
We love you.

i will always respect the Igbos, at least they have a vision to be an independent nation, but the Yorubas, am too sorry for them, they want to remain slaves to the North. no vision nothing nothing, only being coward and cunny in pride even while many of them have no shishi in their pockets, all they know how to do best is bad belle, borrow millions while still in poverty just to do 100 years old burial ceremony even without a means to pay it back after the show off of "na me dey there". what a shame.
as for the North, well let them continue to enjoy another region's weath while it last, all i know is that, their times are numbered, and days for honoring themselves will soon be at an end. thank you
Continue wailing olofo. The oloribu Ojukwu will continue to rest in hell

Not at all. They didn't cause it and they didn't start it. An Igbo coup did. Nigeria's first elected leader who was a Northerner was assassinated in the coup. Some Northern elites were targeted and killed while Igbo politicians were either out under house arrest or 'went on leave', just like Nnamdi Azikiwe.

The soldiers didn't stop their, they posted bloodied pictures of assassinated Northern leaders on walls in the North and even shared the graphic details of the assassinations with their Northern soldiers who were lesser in rank.

No doubt, the coup failed because Nzeogwu who led the coup and Ojukwu never agreed. The former was a younger colleague to Ojukwu and Ojukwu who knew about the coup ab initio foiled it to prevent a younger soldier from becoming his head.

The North retaliated the attack by killing innocent Igbos residing among them. In the East, a reprisal followed but it wasn't as strong as that of the North.

Ojukwu had plans, no doubt, he foiled the coup for one major reason, to get Nzeogwu who was younger in rank out of the way. That wasn't just it, Oil had been discovered in the then Old Eastern Region roughly three years before the war. Ironically, the North had wanted to pull out of Nigeria prior to the discovery of oil (14 years before the war) but Azikiwe read the riot act to the Northern Elites in Yaba, in 1953.
https://nigerianwiki.xyz/nnamdi-azikiwes-secession-speech-of-1953/

Ojukwu wanted an independent nation all for oil. The secession act was a bargaining chip that failed. Gowon called his bluff, rescinded on their accord in Aburi and Ojukwu declared Biafra. It was only natural that a sovereign Nigeria will fight to keep her territory together.

When food supplies were cut in Port Harcourt, Ojukwu was handicapped at that moment but he never stopped fighting. Stashed foods were moved into his residence to first take care of his family and then his generals. Hunger crept in and first it was water, then lack of protein. To live, starving Igbos fed on burnt corpses as meats, a horrible but natural survival instinct.

When help arrived via Médecins sans Frontières, it wasn't for long as Ojukwu wanted to use their planes for transport of ammunitions. For choosing to remain neutral, Ojukwu rejected further help for his people and asked BBC journalists (now late, can't recall their names) to report the situation of his people, with the intent that he'd get free foreign hand to assist in the war. Note that Ojukwu started the war with allied countries just as Nigeria and a handful of foreign veteran war mercenaries who left after they no longer got paid.

Eventually, he lost the war as it was obvious it wasn't about protecting his people and territory but also wanting to seize Lagos. His soldiers were greatly defeated and repelled at Ore. A man who never took counsels realized he had failed, took his two kids and fled to Abidjan, leaving his second in command to surrender.

How then is the North responsible for the war?

First of nzeogwu was never going to be ojukwu's head of state as the coupists had no design for power
Second the counter coup of july 66 and the subsequent killings by the north caused d war
All is fair in war of course so ojukwu's moves while poor attimes was d mandate given to him by the people
Please don't spill lies cause of igbophobia
