Only I did not "max" TEF and so as things stand, I cannot use it as my first official langage. I have to perform considerably better at IELTS to stand any chance.

Aim higher for ielts. You can get more than what you projected. Just prepare well. I did the same

After the TEF stuff I will work hard for sure but will remain extra conservative with regards to expectations.

The old one is what you will update on CIC to get your CRS points and ITA potentially. CIC has not been updated to accept the scores/699

No. I started from A1 in April. From the word "bonjour". But my learning has been intensive. I attend classes everyday and do a lot of listening/speaking outside of the classroom.
