Even those who don't like Sowore for whatever reason should view this latest development with alarm. Such brazen disrespect for court judgements only strengthens the impression abroad that Nigeria is a country where laws have absolutely no effect on restraining those in power, which in turn both dissuades foreign investors and spurs domestic investors to capital flight. These are the last things Nigeria's economy needs right now, what with all the damage Buhari's wrong-headed statist and protectionist policies have wrought.

Ordinarily, this is contempt of court and the officers in charge of such flouting of the law should be remanded in prison by the order of the court.

I was telling a fellow here that Nigeria has never practiced democracy since 1999, fellow was arguing with me.

If the judicial arm of government had been strengthened during Obasanjo's useless 8 years, DSS will never have the guts to do such.

This news if true should dominate the papers and elicit huge cries from local and international observers.

The DSS takes order directly from the Presidency.

The Presidency heads the Executive arm of the government.

It is safe to conclude that one arm of the government is deliberately disrespecting the other arm.

At this juncture, the Judiciary should at least make a strong statement to rescue itself from this embarrassment.

Now can they see DSS even refusing to grant bail to someone that have met all his bail conditions.
