ICAN is suspending and/or delisting members who are owing the institute. They have released the list of affected members and given them a 2week grace period to pay up before the delisting is finalised. After that, it is possible that fines may be introduced which delisted members may have to pay before they can regain membership, making it more expensive in the long run.

From all indications, it seems that ICAN is serious this time.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria has delisted 14,337 non-financial members who are owing the association dues for more than three years effective from November 1, 2019.

The professional accountancy body, in a statement signed by its registrar John I. Evbodaghe, said it has also suspended 11,240 members who are owing dues covering between than six months to three years.

“Council has directed that members should be given two weeks grace period ending November 19, 2019 to further reconcile their financial status with the Institute.” the statement said.

The institute said it will publish names indebted members’ details in national Newspapers after the expiration of the “two weeks grace period” if they fail to pay.

To delisted 14,337 and suspense 11,240 members; means that ICAN Students and those who yet to be inducted are included at both Technician and Professional levels.

My name is there.

I have not paid my membership dues in more than 6 years. It's a very small money (less than 100k) which will even be reimbursed by my employers but I just did not take it seriously. I just needed their cert to add to my CV, I have not been doing the subsequent financial obligation of a member.

Not good.

This action will make me take it seriously.

These dues should be made very affordable for every member working or not to be able to pay.

Season of IGR, all hands on deck, no government cash support again as even the government is very broke. Meanwhile is ICAN sure dead people are not on that list? They should consider the young chaps who got certified to enhance their employability but are yet to make a headway, please don't leave them worse off.
