The question the is, why does the North want a united Nigeria? Is it out of the incredible love they have for other zones?(The kind of love that made them slaughter over 50,000 people from a particular zone in 1966)

Why would the North want unity with people they dont have anything in common with? If someone doesn't want to be with you, why would you want to be with them?

Of course we all know the truth. The North sees the rest of Nigeria as their "empire" and the people as their slaves

The North wants ta united Nigeria but on their terms. That is slavery. Unfortunately, in a master-servant relationship, the servant is rarely happy while the master wants "one Nigeria" to last forever

My forefathers enjoyed even greater freedom when there was no Nigeria.

I guess you tend to mistake union for unity and decadence for integrity. By the way, the so-called northern region of Nigeria does not represent any single ethnicity. Yes, Ndigbo do not make bones about the need to secede from the zoo called Nigeria. Nigeria represents one thing in human nature and it is called retrogression.
