Both old and young people from East reasons same way..

Buhari's trip to UK is just for 2 weeks ( 14 days) The constitutions mandated he must hand over if he will be unavailable for 21 days.

This people should stop whinning around jor

Can't you Africans abi Nigerians ever get fed up with doing things in reverse order? Why must every single thing even those that common sense dictate be spelt out in your constitution which you even hardly respect before you consider it reasonable to do?
What is so bad in handing over to your deputy when you are away, or is he just there for nothing sake?
I guess when barrister Ubani's take favoured the presidency and the president even had to give him some special recognition you thought he was from Chad. Now that his take is against the nonsense that the presidency just did, he definitely is from the East.
People should get fed up with such nonsense jor!

Ubani said there's no place for "private visit " in the constitution but there a place for "vacation"
My question is, what's the different between the two?

Thank u Mr lawyer.
I had expected our so called constitutional lawyers to shed more light into this but it seems like we don't have such lawyers in Nigeria anymore or is it Buhari effect?

So the 21 days brouhaha was taken out of context?

Hmm.

I hate politicians but I'm beginning to pity the vice president. That man will soon develop high bp. He will be regretting seriously.
He made money working with tinubu, has a successful career, what again does he want if not greed?
Even as he went to aso rock, greed no gree am see road.

Those that put you there has more political powers than u.
U for quietly do what u signed for and go your way.
At least, we will still blame it to the redundant office of the vp as usual. U can never make Nigeria better.
Very impossible. As long as Nigeria is structured this way with the useless 1999 constitution backing it, no president will make naija work. U try, forces around u will spoil show for u. Ask Jonathan and late yaradua.

Which Yar'Adua?
The one who harassed the hell out of Ribadu because of Ibori or there is another Yar'Adua?
The first one with a cabal that looted us quietly and gave us P&ID palaver?

Do you have a short memory

ziddy:
Security Stops Ribadu Gani Condemns Action
From Isa Abdulsalami, Jos

SECURITY operatives yesterday dragged the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, from the graduation ceremonies at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.

Ribadu, who had successfully completed his course at the NIPSS, was at the Unity Hall of the institute where he and other colleagues were seated, waiting to be conferred with the Members of the National Institute (mni) when the operatives pounced on him.

He was dragged out of the hall and taken to an unknown destination within the premises of the institute.

The institute's authorities said he could not participate at the ceremony on health ground but Ribadu, who returned to Abuja yesterday, has debunked this claim.

MaiSuya:
This quote by Gani fawenhinmi over the issue, taken from the Guardian beautifully summarizes my reaction to the whole issue:

''Meanwhile, Lagos lawyer and rights crusader, Chief Gani Fawehinmi, has described as "most disheartening, absolute bizarre and unprecedentedly barbaric" the prevention of Mallam Ribadu from graduating yesterday at NIPSS, Kuru.

He said Ribadu's travails through the Yar'Adua administration shows that government has the tendencies of fascism and its profession for the rule of law "is smokescreen and hypocrisy of the worst order."   (emphasis mine)

Ubani used to be Buhari's number one fan. I guess he got angry when EFCC detained him and Buhari failed to intervene

U know him very well.

I think he got angry for two reasons:

His expectations were high. In 2016, I remember how he used to talk about what would become of Nigeria after Buhari's first tenure.

He got really angry when Buhari started using the DSS to attack and prosecute judges. He felt it was outright abuse of power and criticized the move heavily on Radio Continental ( now Max FM)

I advocate parliamentary system of government, because the presidential system gave excessive powers to the president. This makes the president behave anyhow. Besides, the presidential system is wasteful.

Don't mind those empty heads who choose to see things from their myopic stand point.
The day you stop supporting the rubbish they do you become an enemy of State, and that is how we are supposed to move forward.
Ubani is just one of the many who were disillusioned with this confused bunch in charge.

Buhari: the poster boy of a failed state. Buhari is a symbol of decadence and and a country that has lost direction. With his antecedents Buhari cannot lead a village. He is failure personified and a tool in the hands of rogue politicians and state actors. Right now Buhari is the least of the presidents running the affairs of this nation: Buhari is a vacuum the members of the cabal are exploiting to advance their selfish pursuits at the expense of the nation.

That’s the worst thing he can do. It is almost like the president resigning because the media is lying against him and insulting him. How does that hurt them? How does his resigning hurt Buhari? So he resigns and tomorrow Buhari is long-term hospitalized or dies. Who lost?

Lost what?
What did Ebitu Ukiwe lose when Aikhomu replaced him and stayed with Babangida till he stepped aside?
