It's been my long time dream to be a goat farmer, I spent almost two years to put everything in place I.e secured land, built a house around it for security purpose etc. Now I'm preparing for The Goat Pen. I intend to invest on buying and selling of WAD goat for rearing,Sahel/desert goat- known as West African Long-Legged goat; and Sokoto Red/Maradi for Meat. 2 Likes |

Its hi time the mods did something about slandering and placing scammer tags on innocent people Some people lost intellectual debates across different threads and since a week they keep going on to spoil me all over the forum I'm human and have a tolerance limit. Ive never jumped on anyone on the forum. Never. Not since 2005. I provide free counsels to people selling direction in life and some people tag me scammer saying why am I in different fields of life and know too much 3 Likes |

olukaygold: Can you educate me more on the different types of goats and how one can get them for rearing and subsequent sale. Where can I get them? I have a fully fenced one plot of land that I am not using and would like to rear goat there. Thanks. |

The easiest place to buy goats is in the market but not ideal for a farmer, most goat get infected in the market due to contamination of the market , mixture of both sick and healthy animals. Goats from market should be quarantine/ observed for some time and vaccinated before introducing them to farm 3 Likes |

pixel704: I've thought about this, but my plans to counter this is to firstly separate them from the rest and give them anti stress and antibiotics. I hope this will help right? |

olukaygold: God will crown your effort bro. The plan is good I believe that will help. Niger state is a good choice, Niger is not as dry as most northern states( Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina) Sokoto red goat from Niger can easily cope with high rain fall of the south compared to one coming from place like Sokoto ( my assumption). In regards to the breads I personally don't like saheale 1- they're skinny when young but put on more flesh when mature , 2- Sokoto red is more expensive compared to it , 3- they are more prone to sicknesses associated with wetness 1 Like |

pixel704:This I can't decide yet that's why I'm going for those three breads I forementioned,it depends on how the market flows, though I'm targeting this festive period for now. |
