I doubt if a midwife will demand all these nessesary test. Please do the essential ones especially pvc.

Nne, since it appears you are under a midwife’s care, I would suggest you go to a private laboratory and do your PCV, the essence of knowing your pcv especially now that you are due is to know your blood level before delivery because you are bound to loose some blood during delivery. So if your PCV is already low and you loose blood during delivery, it might be a bit risky. So, if you can, check your PCV, depending on the level, you can work it up if need be.

When i told the doci was using folic acid, he told me to stop until they give me their prescribed drugs. I was given only PCM when i complained of weakness and body pain.
I need to know if all these are normal. I presently feel severe weakness and headache and i don't have appetite most times, i just eat to fill my stomach. Is there anything i can do or any drugs i can start taking to relieve me of how i feel?

if ur doctor said don't take it now,then don't, those feeling u are having happens to many pregnant women,u will be surprised to know that drugs don't always cure it,just hang on,it will pass with time,by the way,u can still go to another hospital to confirm. remain blessed

The PHC in my area do pcv, it's between 300 and 500 naira. They do it Where we do scan too

1. Antenatal at 12 weeks - yes

2. Stop folic acid - don't try this please, take it religiously

3. Don't take PCM abeg. Instead run a malaria test just to check. if you don't have malaria take the weakness as part of your package. Just eat well and take your folic acid

Any woman that has reach d child bearing age must start taking at least 400mcg of folic acid...don't even miss that important drugs.

Secondly u can register for antenatal as early as u want if u are having high risk pregnancy

Thirdly change ur hospital the earlier d best

Ok mama. Since you have done it before, i think all checks out. In my own case, i did pcv test once a month as requested by my hospital. It is a cheap test that can be done in any lab, should not be more than 1,500.

It is possible they might request for the test towards your delivery date. All is well mama.

Great! I once used an hospital temporarily during my first pregnancy, blood group wasn't part of the test they do before commencing antenatal. I even asked why its not included but they said no need yet they do pcv every visit . Thank God i already knew am negative then. I carried myself from there as fast as i could. Imagine if I wasn't enlightened

You can use parklane,for private you can use God's own hospital independence layout Enugu.Using there for delivery but my antenatal is FMC

I wonder why a qualified doctor would ask you not to take Folic acid, did you show him the drugs before he asked you to stop? please ooo folic acid is just a tiny tablet that is yellowish, I hope it's the one you are taking. or please go to another hospital and verify

I just pray it stops oooo cos d only thing DAT keeps me going is dat second trimester would b better. Chai belle no easy oooo, how I wish I can give it to someone to keep for me and I will go collect it after 9months.
