People underrate this SUV. Just don't go for 2005 models upward which comes with 4.0 engine. Those models have very poor fuel economy. The 1999 to 2002 comes with 3.3 engine while 2003- 2004 comes with 3.5 engine. I have been using the 2001 for close to 2 years now, no problems at all. Just basic maintenance. Its rugged and reliable. Perfect for Nigerian roads.

anything 05 upwards is a death sentence o... Don't try it... Reliability went down the drain from 05 mine is the 2003 Nissan Pathfinder LE with black leather seats. Bought mine from a guy from this forum. Twas his personal car and a year and half down the line, I've never had headache... We've done a lot of interstate and in city driving... In February, I did Benin-Abuja-Benin same day. Left at 6am, got back at 10pm and car was asking for more next day.... Forget talk... That car na car. Only thing I hate is accessing the plugs for change but I've learnt to do it myself.

yes... Fuel economy.... Its one of the most economical cars I've ever used. 2k fuel with daily drive from ajah to VI daily with AC to and fro daily takes me 3-4 days with the traffic join.... My engine is 3.5ltr V6

@ the economy and quietness? Its not economical than a yota or Honda of same enhine volumetric capacity, Its more noisier, its not faster than a Honda or Toyota of similar engine size, interior rear seating is cramped, front seats aren't comfy for taller folks as the seat back rest isn't tall.
But its fun to drive.

I've owned a QX4 RWD with the 3.5 VQ35DE

QX4 is infiniti na.... I've never like d that Variant. Whenever I tell people my 2003 Nissan pathfinder is quiet as a mouse, they always act surprised. I see quite a few and most times they re very noisy but not mine. If I'm parked beside you idle, you won't know the car is on. On the roads, its as quiet as other SUVs. The day the sound became loud, I told mechanic, baba said its normal pathfinder sound he was hearing and I insisted till I got it resolved and the fix was a surprising unexpected one.... My alternator was not charging as before so I had to change it. The moment I changed it, the car stopped having the loud Volvo like sound most pathfinders have. The Cclass has gone but another W203 C230 Kompressor will soon be owned. The pathfinder is roomier than the infiniti variant. 4 people comfortably seat at the rear though I like to carry Max 3 behind. The front seats are also very roomy. Compared to to infiniti variant even though that Variant is meant to be luxury. My observation though... Maybe cos my pathfinder is an American spec but I know it is so different from the ones I see in the road. BTW... Believe me when I tell you.... My 03 3.5ltr V6 is very swift...... U don't want to argue it but believe me you.... She is fast and yes.... I've raced her....

I think the infiniti is heavier. I also noticed infiniti tends to over a period of time sag at the rear. As in they usually look like they are carrying a lot of load in their trunk even when empty. As for same engine I can't say why but I know infiti luxury arm of Nissan have always been fuel guzzlers even down to their sedans.
