After the event, the Dean, Professor G.E Onibi made a statement as to the decision of the panel that 'all culprit involved in the brutalization would be expelled including the camera man'.

The big question:

Is it right for camera man to be expelled?

I think whoever video the event did it not out of concern for the victim, but for muckery. Else, why did he/she take down the video when peoples reaction was on the negative? He/She is also a partner in crime

I personally think education should be made expensive in Nigeria and students of public universities should pay as much as 200k then all this madness on our campuses will stop .Visit any school community in Nigeria cultism,fraudsters,prostitution is the order of the day .But once the fees are increased i believe it is only people that need the education that will there but now that the fees is close to nothing many are unserious. My own opinion though.Just take a look at our leaders of tomorrow if a 300 level school father can behave like this what will happen when this one is through with school

I don't think that is the solution. FYI, what many students go through to pay their fees cannot be described. What you see there could have happened in an expensive university because it boils down to our ideal as a society than the students in isolation.

It can't happen in an expensive school,cause most of the students stay on campus obviously this is a hostel outside campus what is a boy doing in girls hostel .I personally think if the fees are increased it will straighten out alot of things and it will not be a free for all venture .You need to go to a school community and see what goes on there is it the underage males joining cults and losing their lives at the end of the day or dropping out ,or is it the students that want to live a flamboyant life style hence pushing them into online fraud or prostitution .Or is it the students that go there to co habit (married in school single at home ) So here is the logic once the fees are increased it will reduce the crowd now the facility on ground(hostels and all) will be enough for the students that are ready to go to school issues like staying off campus will be totally ruled out then all this excesses can be curbed .Then as a student when you know what your parents are paying for fees it automatically makes you serious ,education is too cheap in this part of the world that is why we have alot of half baked graduates here and there

the situation is so pathetic . If you see the way they were behaving and shouting upandan asking authorities to bring out the perpetrators so they can mete justice to them by themselves, a whole college students. Forgetting that the said perpetrators were accosted for the same crime which is taking the law into their own hands cos the victim was accused of blackmailing/name spoiling one of the offenders-which trails down another part of rot in the society-whoring in the university..


i believe you made a great point, but if you look well you will find out that the solution you proffered is the root of this situation, whereby offender 1 is trying to make ends meet due to her condition, the victim who is probably not used to whoring in the university (of which i know she would soon be) is "running her mouth" thereby making offender 1 to call on offender 2-4 to beat up the victim.

So you think fees increment is the way to make students serious? Then you're running towards what you're running away from. Here's the analysis:
More students won't be able to study in the universities due to expensive fees and thus leading to more unemployed, uneducated younger generation which leads more social problems and worse than this FUTA scenario.

And futa student are not violent oo.. They are one of the most gentle and silent university in the country
