It took him few minutes to troubleshoot, detect and fix the transmission issue . And didnt charge me for it

i want to buy my first car and i was shown one pre-owned avalon limited 08, the owner lives within my area. i stepped into it and car is pristine and spotless as far as my eyes can see. the ac is cold, all control and switch and keyless and sunroof works. price is fair and as far as i can see it's a good deal i so much liked it.

I'm a little concerned about the state of the engine. As the man drove it towards where i stood i felt i heard some unusual noise considering i was taken home in a sienna 06 same day and it was almost silent. the engine of this avalon is loud. then one of the tires is rubbing on something making a kind of chhh chhh sound. the car needs 4 new tires, a windscreen and there's one thing on the shock when u open the hood he said is like a cup that will screw-hold one thing from the shock directly above one of the front tires in place which i have to buy for 3k.

my question is i dont know much about cars, never owned one personally. this avalon 08 is great and just fits my personality. car starts and stops at the touch of a button, sound system is great. should i be concerned about the engine since it runs and no check engine light just one yellow light blinking he said it's oil? he called one mech guy who said he's the one doing servicing i told him about the loudness of the engine but he doesnt seem to understand what i'm saying.

i want to get one mechanic to come over and check it, i can trust his verdict as he works for our MD. How will i know he is doing the right thing in checking for the source of the loudness especially in idling with AC off?

i've never heard Gazzuzz talk about avalon in his reviews and is this pre-owned avalon 08 limited a good deal?

Sorry for the delay in response. Mine is just two months old and no issue so far apart from oil maintenance required on the display screen. Its an excellent ride in term of good fuel consumption, average performance etc. But its a car you have to pay attention to when it develops fault. Furthermore you can buy a diagnosis tools to detect fault or you patronize a very good mechanic not Kazem that would use your car as lap test. NB use recommended oil by the manufacturer not mobil XHP that mechanic recommend. If you going to get your wife this car you have to be available if she is the type that does not care. The car need serious pampering.

I think once or twice, it has gone off in heavy traffic. From my experience on Nairaland, I believe it's either low fuel pressure from the pump or clogged injectors. How do I eliminate the wrong one. Note: Car starts very easily with one crank

Injectors in Nigeria have really suffered, just get a fresh Toks set of injectors and a measure fuel pressure. If fuel pressure low replace fuel pump assy

My vehicle droves smooth. But whenever i go on a long trip. Or the fuel quality is low. The engine doesnt fire well. It acts as of there is low fuel pressure.but when i turn it off and on again. The problem disapears for a while.
What cud be the issue?
Its a 2009 corolla

Hello Gazzuzz, please will putting this tire/rim affect a Corolla 05. My concern is carrying extra load or three people at the back, will the back side of the car be touching or have contact with the tires? Please will appreciate your candid advice.
