Chief Ebenezer Babatope, a former Minister of Transport on Tuesday said former President Goodluck Jonathan will regret working for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa state against his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Babatope also faulted those calling for the resignation of Prince Uche Secondus over the party's loss in Kogi and Bayelsa, saying the APC shamelessly manipulated the elections.

" I hope it is not true that former president Goodluck Jonathan worked against the party in Bayelsa. If he did so, I'm sure that he is going to regret it" he said.

David Lyon of the APC was declared as the governor-elect after defeating Sen. Douye Diri of the PDP.

Babatope should ask himself why Wike, his closest neighbour, failed to attend any of the rallies?

GEJ was already regretting his continued stay in a party that his views, observations, advice, and counsel are never considered.

His people were fed up with PDP under Dickson, who has no respect for him (Jonathan).

It was a hard decision he had to take to remain relevant because his people were ready to dump him with PDP if he remained adamant.

I don't blame Jonathan.

Don't mind those expired politicians who do not understand when their wives soup is sawerd. Let them keep thinking that it was Jonathan that made APC to win. They forgot that the same APC recently took over senatorial, house of rep and state house of assembly where Jonathan hails from. So Jonathan or no Jonathan, the people of Beyelsa had already determined to send PDP packing.

Jonathan who openly supported Atiku, Kwankwaso, Saraki, etc, who worked against him, is he the same person that will work against PDP in his state where he is NOT the governor or has no ambition he is chasing?

Dickson is your fall guy. Go and fight him and stop obsfuscating what has happened. Once you impose someone on a party, party stalwarts will revolt against you. It’s a fight no Governor can win. This is politics. This is simple. Okorocha tried imposing his in-law Uche Nwosu in APC primaries, what happened? Didnt his son not loose the primaries? Didnt APC eventually loose the state to PDP?

Fight the arrogant Dickson and leave GEJ alone.
