I worked with an organization last year, and they had an IVM bus in their garage. I inquired about it, and all the drivers just hissed.

They said it has too many issues, and no one in the mechanical engineering department could fix it, and they have to spend more to bring different people to fix it. If one person fix it today, he can't fix it tomorrow. So they just kept it aside, and bought a Toyota .

innoson needs to work on their marketing, make arrangements for maintenance.

as much as Makinde buying 100 hyundai sedan 4 seater cars for the police being commendable, 100 cars in a state like Oyo state which is almost as large as SouthEast region is like droping a table spoon of salt in an olympic size swiming pool..

He should have borrowed the sense from Akeredolu by rehabilitating government cars littered around secetariate and police station rather than buying this toy cars... (atleast police van at Egbeda Police station at Bola Ige Market only need tires and new engine and we the CDC and landlord association are already contributing to fix it)

Should there be a real police emergency how many officer would an hyundai carry? where would they keep arrested criminals, in the boots or lap them? how will an Ak47 riffle fit into that small car and carry people?, is a toy car hyundai suitable for all terrains in Oyo state? how would the officer maintain an Hyundai when the sales and service center is not in the state? is buying an hillux not wiser in terms of carrying more personnel and criminals?

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State,on 19th November, commissions the first 100 security cars fitted with modern communication technology to combat crime in the State.

This was his pledge some weeks ago and has redeemed it today in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
The cars are 100 units of 2019 Kia Rio which would be given to different security agencies so as to improve security in Oyo State.

Also present at the Commissioning ceremony is the CP of Oyo State, heads of security agencies, government functionaries, members of the Press, and the good people of Oyo State.

Oyo people can call on the security agents by dialing a toll free number, ‘615’, in case there is any criminal activity or emergences.

Kia and hyuandai assemble cars at the old VW factory in badagry, Honda assembles accords, pilot, CRV, in Otta ogun state. there are others.

Kia Motors Nigeria, the leading Korean brand in Nigeria, has continuously embarked on promising growth trajectory with a positive growth for over a decade, making it one of the fastest growing automobile in Nigeria. In a bid to further strengthen its leadership role in the industry, it has unveiled a new assembly plant, United Vehicle Assembly Limited (UVAL) in Lagos commissioned to produce 25,000 vehicles per annum.

In a working visit to the assembly plant by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Olusegun Aganga expressed his delight and appreciation on the successful completion of the new plant. According to Dr Aganga at the media chat with journalists after the inspection, he stated “I am pleasantly surprised at the level of success and the advance technology of this plant. I have visited different auto assembly plants across the globe and I can tell you that with the level of the quality assurance control and the sophistication of the equipment of this assembly plant, it can compete with international standard.”

The CEO of UVAL, Mr Jacky Hathiramani, stated at the event that, “the move to establish an assembly plant stems the tide of investment aimed at Nigeria and also keying into the country’s automotive policy. We are committed to making Nigeria a leading auto manufacturing country in Africa and also to contribute immensely to the development of the nation through this multi-billion Naira investment.” He further stressed that the plant has employed engineering graduates from Nigerian universities and will continue to provide employment for Nigerians.

“With today’s opening of our plant in Lagos, we have taken our growth commitment to a greater height in Nigeria and reposition our brand to the teeming publics by supporting the proudly Nigeria dream” further stated by Mr Jacky.

In a statement by the Chief Commercial officer, Kia Motors Nigeria, Mr Sandeep Malhotra, “the unprecedented stride of Kia brand in the automobile industry in Nigeria has continued to outpace competitions in offering best in class automotive technology to its customers. Premised on our increased acceptability among our valued customers in the last decade, we are now looking at further strengthening our foothold and expanding our reach in the Nigerian market with the new assembly plant”.

Delivering on its promise made by Kia Motors Nigeria last year to locally produce Kia vehicles in the country, the company recently launched its made in Nigeria vehicles which include Kia Rio, Cerato, Optima, Sorento, Soul and before the end of the year will be producing all its models ranging from the Sedans, Sport Utility Vehicles to the Pick Ups.
