Alaibe was overwhelmingly the favorite to win the bayelsa governorship election if he had won the PDP primaries. Both the PDP and APC candidates were relatively unknown in the political sphere of bayelsa 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Not at all. Timi Alaibe is a pariah. Nobody wants him. In 2015, APC denied him the ticket and now in 2019, PDP also denied him ticket. He is just like Alex Otti in Abia state with media popularity but zero structures on ground. David Lyon is grassroots. APC leaders had to beg him to run because they wanted Bayelsa so bad and only him could sweep Dickson, Gej and Alaibe off their feets. 2 Likes |

garfield1:i cant really say but all i know is Alaibe is one of the father of politics as far as bayelsa is concern. Alaibe even gave Alamco a run for his money in a build up to his second time in office. even when Alamco won the primary in Yenagoa the party did nt announced it immediately until things were settle in abuja due to Alaibe political connection to Abuja then...Jonathan and co could not even measure up then..Alaibe is also like a godson to Atiku and u know Atiku fell in favour with Obasanjo really affected him .but i think things will work in his favour if he can maintain been in the party that controls the centre. He s really a big name in niger delta politics. 1 Like |

Re: Bayelsa: Would PDP Have Won If Alaibe Were The Governorship Candidate? by Topshow2010(m): 6:04pm On Nov 20, 2019 |
Alaibe couldn't have won if he were to be PDP candidate ,its was obvious the APC candidate was a very popular person even within the PDP circles. If Alaibe was so popular he should have join another party to test his acceptability among d people ,since the people were alleged to have voted for personality rather party. 2 Likes |

LegendHero:GOD-FATHERISM A form of political corruption in which an influential member of a party assists another person/party in climb to leadership due to many reasons. Wikitionary (2019) To be honest I tilt a little to your opinion on god-fatherism. Infact god-fatherism plays a major role in every sphere of life,. That beign said, GEJ is a god-father in Bayelsa state politics, as you rightly mentioned, every governor that have been elected to that position always enjoyed his support.
