Some people don't fully understand how IT helps with certain tasks. Imagine every word in English language is embedded in Microsoft Word which underlines in red and green when you make mistakes. That's the most rudimentary form of IT and Database.

Checks are carried out on everyone who applies for any type of entry into the US. These checks are done by automation, then reviewed by a human being at interview. The human being doesn't carry out the checks.

We do not have a baseline database info in Nigeria, that's why you can walk to INEC Voters Registration Centre and say you are XYZ, and that is accepted at that point by the INEC staff. Is there a way to check?
But you are stuck with that identity forever. Ditto Drivers License and Immigration Passport and CBN BVN...

Some of you should take time to google your name and social media handle, small thing maybe the reason for your denial. Most time they will not grant visa to any applicant who abuse his/her Govt everyday on Social Media.
E g AngelicBeing, Hahaha, this cracked my ribs, it means that supposing I needed to apply for the mighty US visa, l will not qualify for it because I am number one critic of the government of several African countries especially Nigeria but thanks to the celestial forces, l don't need to apply for any western visas because my current adopted country passport will take me to more than 150 countries, the only passport giving me wahala sef in all my trip is the Buhari's passport l also carry with me called Nigerian passport

However, I will continue to critize bad egunje eggheads African countries and their kangaroo government until they shape up and deliver good governance to Africans to reduce the current endemic / acidic poverty / lack of jobs / insecurity / comatose infrastructures etc across Africa, which is a precipitating factor for migration

If any Government is failing in its responsibility the citizens have the right to hold the government accountable. sad
So complaining about the government on social media cannot be a solid reason for visa denial. undecided
Protests are happening around the world and many citizens complain when they are unhappy with their government so it not the U.S embassy’s job to punish a visa applicant for speaking out for what they deserve from their government. wink
The real reason the U.S embassy might need social media details is to track if an individual might be involved in organized crime.
Some criminals are dumb enough to post their crime activities on social media. shocked
So it has nothing to do with innocent citizens that complain about bad governance on social media.

You have a good point in your post, I concur with you and I will continue to critize bad leadership, if they like, let them flag my passport all over the world, l don't give a fvck wink

I have an invitation letter from a US citizen to visit and spend 2weeks in America, I heard Nigerians are been denied visa to US, how true is it pls?
Nigerians are still been issued visas daily but it is very difficult at the moment. Yes denial rates are very high. sad
At this dispensation invitation letter has no value for a B1/B2 visa category.
Go ahead and apply but do not put your hope on a piece of paper called invitation letter. embarassed

I'm just curious, those mature adults that are not literate, how do they communicate with the Vo during an interview?

it was estimated last year that about 14million pple apply for US visa last year (globally) are you telling me that they checks those large number of people also??
Interesting topic..lets put this another way. The airports sees millions of people each year. Do you not think the CBP officers check each and everyone that goes through in their database which may be similar to the ones used by the Consulate? It just takes seconds.

When I applied for my visa and I was checking the status, I noticed that my case was opened a day before my actual interview. So most likely that is when the checks happen.

I went for the visa interview today in Lagos.

- What I discovered is that US consulate still gives visas. I saw a lot of people given, especially older people.
- Younger people have a tougher time.
- The Consular Officers are more stringent and reasons or excuses that one could get away with in the past are no longer tenable
- What you fill on your DS 160 form are most times confirmed
- Your answers time the questions from the CO are checked and verified
- Your personal circumstance and travel history is very important
- You will be issues a visa if you’re able to convince the CO that you merit one
- Generic conferences or symposia as reasons to travel to the US will almost always result in a rejection.
- Honesty is the best policy because if you’re caught in a lie, it will not just affect the current application, but subsequent ones as well

Yes I got it. This is my 5th US visa, but it’s one that I had to answer the most questions. All my answers were checked and verified on the system. I have a quite extensive travel history having been to all the continents except Australia but I still had to answer lots of questions.

Do any one know if you need to bring cash or debit card to pay for the Reciprocity Fee
B1/B2 $110 ? My mom has her interview tomorrow and was wondering how that is done. Lastly she doesn’t have a debit card, would they accept cash? If cash how much do you take ? Naira or dollars ?

Good days guys. My name is Dennis and I’m a grad student in Maryland, USA.

I only recently found out that there is still limited provisions made for students who wish to pay their SEVIS fees in Nigeria and a lot of prospective students who need to do this have to resort to sending money abroad to strangers at the risk of getting duped just as someone I know was defrauded recently.

I am offering my services to those who are interested in studying in USA and are trying to pay their SEVIS fees. I have an “open book” policy which means that there will be 100% transparency as regards my identity and what we do.

I also offer over the phone interview coaching if interested which can be done through WhatsApp video call, regular phone call, Skype etc.

You can reach out to me at +13478920129 through WhatsApp or regular call.

DISCLAIMER: I am not in anyway affiliated with SEVIS or the US Department of Homeland Security.
New moniker opened today and Already advertising for SEVIS fees payment, if you want to be legit. contact Seun and pay for ADVERT and post your questions on the US / students visa Thread and if they trust you, they will part with their money for you to assist in the SEVIS payment.
