Zik is an ethic champion that hide under the banner of a nationalist. During the 1964 parliamentary election when he fell out with the Balewa government. He accused Balewa of rigging the election result and he refused to form a government. That was the first time Zik first mentioned the Igbo might secede from Nigeria.

After that he snitched on his colleagues such that he travelled during the coup after getting the hint from his tribesmen. He even betrayed his kinsmen by refusing to recognize the Biafra war at some point.

Zik deserves no honor, he was useless for Nigeria as a whole and even more useless for his tribe.
